Anyone own a Barrow acrylic or glass tube reservoir? Opinions?

So i noticed that my super cheap AlphaCool Coolplex Pro 10LT tube reservoir has developed some small fractures in the acrylic around the top of the tube where it threads into the POM end cap, so i'm looking for a slightly taller (120-180mm) tube reservoir that isn't going to cost $100+ that has multiple top ports and one lower outlet. I have a feeling i probably tightened that top cap down a bit too much after cleaning it when i switched to acrylic tubing.

Anyways, after some searching i came across a couple of Barrow tube reservoirs, and since i really like their v4 compression fittings for hard tubing, i figured they'd probably make a nice res. They come in both acrylic or quartz glass so if anyone has had their hands on one of these, i'd like to know what you think about it. Looking at them at face value, i'm leaning towards the glass version.

Thanks

Well this is a bit strange. Almost everyone on Ali Express is no longer selling the quartz glass reservoirs. Additionally, Barrow's site for these reservoirs when using a link via google redirects you. So i navigate through their site and find a blank page. http://www.barrowint.com/index.php/article/88-4.html

They get discontinued or something? I believe the most recent version of these reservoirs was PG65-V3 and i am having a hard time finding them now. hmm..

I've used their glass reservoir and quality was great. The only issue was the difficulty of finding 65mm mounting options that looked as premium as the reservoir itself.

It's been discountinued unfortunately. The chinese market is ridiculously fast and they add, remove or change stuff every week.

I have 2 of their res and have had no issues with them at all. I also use their waterblocks and fittings.

Haven't used anything Barrow; but upon doing research when I did my build before it and Barrow was recommended as a direct replacement for Bitspower parts in terms of style/quality/compatible but just cheaper.

I never went with them, as I found someone local(ish) that was able to ship me the specific stuff that I needed quicker and for the same price. (D5 Mod Top/Mount top parts) that appeared to be no longer made.

That's same as you have electronic cigarette brands.
You have SVOEMESTO brand and others who make clones of them.
I'm not super happy to do that. I rather buy Swiftech or Koolance cheaper but reliable.

On Koolance sites 8 fittings, 2 adapters, 90 angled adapters, 2 male to male rotary and T Spliter 70$.
Bitspower same parts are 140$.

Bitspower have lower price 11/8 fittings straight, but no one use them.
I believe they are reliable.

Hi there

Over on this forum is big thread regarding the Barrow fittings and their products, I use only their fittings on my loop from start and never have issues with them

I use their Barrow Quick Disconnect Fittings and no issues, have used as well Koolance QD3 which after 6 months or little bit more of constant use just stuck open and caused me few issues

I paid for set of Barrow QDC ÂŁ12-ÂŁ13, Koolance QD3 male or female will cost me as replacement ÂŁ16-ÂŁ24 at least

Currently testing on other loop Bykski 16/10 fittings and they're too great fittings for price and £1.75 per fitting is just way too good price, 90° Rotary fittings I paid £1.25 each etc

For friend hard line loop we are used only Barrow fittings and their copper tubing plus their pumps with reservoir and no issues, we are planned to use soft tubing but after his experience with Alphacool fittings and tubing, he wouldn't touch Alphacool

Bitspower is nice, but same or similar fitting will cost a lot more than Barrow

Hope this helps

Thanks, Jura

Anyone who questions the quality of Barrow's hard tubing fittings clearly has never used them. They are top notch and its kinda hard to claim they're Bitspower clones considering they have an additional o-ring in their design, dont have that ugly logo on the side, and on top of all that i had a pile of extra o-rings that came included with the barrow fittings so I dont have to go out and buy replacements if i bugger one while installing.

Using an AC Aqualis, no problems works great just as you would expect.

Like I said in the OP, I don't want to spend $100+ on a res.

On my build I'm using only Barrow fittings and tried there 2 DDC pumps which are now running on friend build and no issues

Yeah, I'm currently running 2x DDC-1T 10w pumps with a heatkilller Dual DDC top. Works amazing.

well every thing I have from barrow does seem to be a similar quality to bitspower so I would suspect that a reservoir from barrow would be of similar quality. that said I do have 4 bitspower reservoirs, one water cool glass reservoir, and I had a monsoon reservoir. all of them are of very good quality, and I would recommend any of them for a build. if you are wanting a glass reservoir and can not find the one you want take a look at water cool's reservoirs, they do make tops for their reservoirs with ports in them, so piping from top to bottom is possible.

Hello, what exact parts are needed to assemble Barrow D5 reservoir ?
First, tank itself YKD5G65 http://www.barrowint.com.img.800cdn.com/Uploads/Picture/2016-10-20/58083e7f278b1.jpg
Then top YKD5BTZ-V2 or YKD5BTZ-V1 http://www.barrowint.com.img.800cdn.com/Uploads/Picture/2016-10-20/58083f24bd9c4.jpg http://www.barrowint.com.img.800cdn.com/Uploads/Picture/2016-10-20/58083d7f7d48c.jpg
also cover for pump, is it compulsory ? LD5HK-V1, Otherwise it is not cheap, considering that pump have to be bought separately.
I do not understand how to mount this reservoir in chassis, maybe it is not all components.
In addition I have question about quality/per price. Initially I liked aquacomputer d5 res but they sold mounting separately and by crazy price. Also there is alphacool res, it has all included, but I heard a lot negative about alphacool. So maybe somebody can sujest reservoir for d5, not very expensive, but with good quality. I plan to mount res vertically.
