They should be universal., remember the HDD itself has the threading on it.

 

As far as I know they are all universal, i have never ran into a problem.

 

Ok, so where should I look and what size of screws am I looking for? Should I call up Thermaltake and see if they sell the screws separately. Cost is not an issue, but the cheaper the better.

This is where I can't help. I have a box of random screws and I use what works.

 

I would just go back to the shop that tore it apart and ask them to either sell or give you some screws

I would prefer not to, while yes they did take the screws. I am never going back to that shop again because of their bad quality.

For desktop hard drives, they're 6-32 (SAE/English), same as for power supplies. For optical drives and 2.5" hard drives, M3 (metric).

Real hardware stores sell all of these.

 

Totally unrelated but not giving the screws back to the client sucks. It may not be a big thing but even I, when repairing pcs for free, put everything I took out inside a zip bag and give it back alongside the rig.

 

3.5" HDDs use 6-32 x 3/16" screws. 2.5" HDDs and SSDs use M3x5 screws. As larymoencurly pointed out, hardware stores, such as Ace or TrueValue will have them. Home Centers, like Home Depot or Lowes may have them. Since the interior of my case is black, I bought a box of each size in a black finish online from McMaster-Carr.
