small needle nose pillars and squeeze it back into a straight pin? idk if this is safe or not though

 

your best bet is for a set of needle-nose pliers and try to bend it back. if not, you're out of luck.

 

I tried this. But my nose pilers were way to big to fit there. I'm going to try to find smaller ones in a shop tomorrow.

should be safe as long as the OP takes proper precautions against ESD. Perhaps a jewelry repair type pliers might be able to fit. Otherwise some doctor type pliers may as well.

yeah i couldn't think of what they were but thats the kind i used, i happily borrowed them from my mom

 

Trying to straighten it I actually ripped it off...
But than I suck a wire into the plug.

And it works!

Surgical forecepts ( spelling?) work best next time maybe. Fishing shops sell them I think.
If you bend a cpu pin then an empty mechanical pencil works wonders.

 

That's genius! And I'm surprised the wire worked did you solder it or just rest it in the hole? Because you may end up with some latency or power issues down the road.
Checking the pin out it looks like the key....no idea what that does but hopefully someone tells us both xD

Wires work for a lot of things using these pins. I've actually gotten an AM2 processor with a broken off pin working again by sticking some copper wire into the pin hole that the processor pin would generally go into. It's magic.

I the only thing I did was that I removed the rubber casing, tangled it quite tight and stuck it into the plug. I also made shure that it's not touching other pins.

It's stuck there quite tight, so I shouldnt expirience any power issues, I mean as long as there is conduction, it will work.

And I'm happily using my front panel usb 3.0 connector! (with pendrives, mouces and headsets!)

 

I was doing some cable mods on my case wires and accidently clipped a wire that goes to my front panel audio plug. It was so close to the plug that there was no hope of splicing it. So I just hooked a little bit longer wire to the cut end and stripped its end and then stuck the wire into the plug from the other end. So when I plug it in it makes contact with the pin! Gotta love these jimmy-rig mods!

 

This was the trick that did it for me. Thank you. I had to take off my MSI m5 motherboard to do it; but the mechanical pencil did the job.
