I recently set up the BT homehub and is working great apart from one thing. Once I enter the management part of the hub My login is displayed as ''Basic''. When I go to ''Advanced'' to change importatn settings it pops up asking for a user name and pass which by defauls is admin/admin. Ive tried this and I have no joy. I have also reset the hub a few times now and I still have no joy.

Any ideas guys. I need this so I can configure firewall and wireless settings. Thanks.

Ent, do you just have the homehub, or do you have the BT Total account?

I quickly set mine up a few months back and there were no default passwords/usernames, and nothing set to admin/admin so I am thinking it'll be the bt username they have selected for you, and the default password/chosen password....

Sure, I mean everything on my homehub setup needed the BT account details which I will never use again, and the code on the back of the hub (letters and digits, usually several F's in it for some reason). As soon as that was all good and done, I've never used those details again

Just, wondering, is the BT Total Broadband CD of any help to you ??

edit : Stupid question, you havent got caps on do ya ?

according to page 11 of the manual it should be admin/admin in lower case.

sorry cant be of a lot more help, except maybe call them on the number on page 41... its not crazy expensive, 4p a minute.

give the BT Tech Helpdesk a call, they`ll reset your routers logon details.......that should fix it

Well I have made sure I didnt have caps on lol when using the admin/admin. It should work though lol. * Sigh *. I have also tried my login details to no avail.

All I need to access is the wirless setup and firewall config.

I Shall contact the seller and see what he can do. Any other suggestions are greatly welcomed.

Ok.

1. I installed the Software on the Homehub install CD, I was prompted to input my BT account details aswel as my landline number that BT internet is enabled on.

2. It installed and tested my connection and everything installed perfectly.

I then went into the Hub management where I can change the router settings and such. I went to ''Advanced'' I get prompted with 3 options.

1. Change password
2. Change user account.
3. Exit this page ( I think ).

I noticed that when i go into advanced it states im logged into the ''Basic'' account. However surely I want to get into the admin account. Anyway I try either option 1 or 2 and I get promtped for the Username/Password. I enter admin/admin and have also tried my own email/username and password but I still cant seem to do it.

Does anyone need anymore details ?

UPDATE*

I got it all sorted.

I feel pretty dumb..However I wasnt expected to know this at the time. It happens that IE7 does not like the Homehub so when you enter login details it will not forward you but will just display the login prompt again making you think your doing something wrong. So I tested it out in Firefox and its all sorted now guys.

Stupid IE. Rep for all that helped. Thanks.
