Hello guys and girls!

Picked up a bunch of terraria copies during the steam sale. I think that it is a really great game that deserves credit so I want to help the developpers a bit and spread the word a bit with free copies.

I'll start with giving away 1 copy this week and 2 more in the near or not so near future.

What is Terraria?

Terraria is a 2D sidescroller sandbox game with a kind of pixelated graphical look. It is often compared to minecraft and described as minecraft 2D but that comparison doesn't do terraria justice. You can build your own base and pretty much any construction you want(within 2 dimensions) but you'd be surprised what people can do with a bit of imagination! The game is all about exploring though, exploring the depths of the earth. But don't forget to look above you
wink.gif
You'll meet a variation of enemies underground that will give you a hard time while digging your tunnels. Don't forget to bring torches! The game is a sandbox but has a definite sense of progression as you'll meet certain npc's as certain conditions are met in your sandbox world. Also you'll constantly be striving for new gear and awesome weaponry to beat awesome bosses you encounter. It might sometimes be tricky to find out what exactly you need to craft that special item but a certain NPC, the guide, gives you much information. If you are really stuck you can take a look at the wiki, but discovering yourself might be more satisfactory. You can really sink as many hours in it as you want and once you have beaten the end boss, all kinds of nice surprises, or not so nice, await. Me personally have sunk over 150 hours in the game, sometimes playing through the night digging in the deep and when the sun peeks through the curtains, finally resurfacing with precious goods.

My description doesn't do it justice so here is a little video review to give you guys a better idea. Still playing it is much better than seeing it.

How to win a terraria copy?

*If you have a wattmeter,

list your specs and your power consumption under a serious gaming load and folding at home if you are a folder.

*If you don't have a wattmeter,

list your specs and do an estimate of how much your rig consumes under a serious gaming load.

I am trying to collect some insight on how much components actually use to be able to give some more accurate PSU advice.

The winner will be chosen randomly. Only one post per person. Edit is allowed. The competition will end Sunday evening in 23.00pm GMT+1 . Oh and you need a steamaccount.

Eitherway, if you win promise me you'll give the game an honest try. And if you like it, be sure to check out their upcoming game Starbound. Just google terraria starbound.

In please!
Specs are in my sig but in short -

GTX 680 (no voltage increase)
i5 2500k @ 1.38V
A few fans, drives and a sound card

I don't own a wattmeter but I borrowed one from a friend and it peaked at 371W while folding 100% on the CPU and GPU
smile.gif

I would imagine gaming load to be just under 300W.

In going to add spec soon

Edited : AMD Athlon processor 2650e (512 KB L2 cache, 1.6 GHz, DDR2 800 MHz, 15 W)
ATI Radeon™ Xpress 1200 Graphics 256

do not know how to find the power consumption

*This post was apparently something odd that my phone helped achieve... Sorry!

hmmmmm

il do the Sig rig then

i7 currently barely overclocked like 100 mhz lol (just to help maximize my ram at its timings really)

3 x 2 GB 1600mhz DDR3

Asus P6T Deluxe

GTX 275 (fan at 80% durring games)

1 SSD

3 standard HDD 7200 rpm

1 large front fan with LED

120mm fan on CPU cooler (fairly low rpm, Noctua)

1 rear exhaust fan

Id say at full load im not going over 550 watts

I only went with the bigger PSU cus of a sweet deal, and easily handle 2nd GPU in the future unfortunately im wayy too poor to be worrying about that these days.

Cooler: Antec Kuhler 620
1 SSD + 1 HDD
4 fans

Sure, why not.

i7 920 1.17v (downvolted and OCed)

6gb DDR3 1.65v

HD 7870 stock volts
GT430 stock volts

5 x 120mm fans

Soundcard

12" CCFL (never on)

620w PSU 80+ Bronze

____________

Total: ~400w (do not own wattmeter, just a rough guess)

**PSU runs quite warm, partly due to my case orientation.

Do want! In! Also, dying for Starbound. Looks so nice!

Specs below in sig but I'll list then again.

Biostar A85W Hi-Fi Motherboard

G.Skill Ripjaws X 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz CL9

Crucial M4 64GB

WD Blue 500GB 3.5" Drive

Corsair CX430 PSU

Total is probably around 204W at full load (based off PCPartPicker's Estimated Wattage calculator).

Specs are in sig, but I'll list them out anyway:

CPU: Phenom II X6 1100T

GPU: HD 6950

Motherboard: M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3

RAM: 2x4GB 1600

SSD: 128GB

Well I'm in unfortunaly I don't have a watts metter would love to be more precise but will give a fully detail Specs lets see if this helps:

CPU: 3570k at 4.7Ghz on 1.352v

GPU: EVGA 670 at 1293Mhz on 1.212v

Ram: 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance LP at 1600mhz on 1.5v

HD: 2x 2TB WD Caviar Green

SSD: OCZ Agility 3

Cooling: H100 with 4x 120mm Bitfenix Specter Fans (1000 rpm)

Case Fans: 6x 120mm Bitfenix Specter Fans (1000 rpm)

Motherboard: MSI Z77 MPower

PSU: PowerColor 1000w

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Edit:

eXtreme Power Supply Calculator gives me a 398W-448W Usage Sounds about right even tho it doesn't take the GPU OC into consideration.

#17 ·
According to eXtreme Power Supply Calculator my sig rig which consists of:

Athlon x4 750k
GTX 650ti Boost SC
2x4 DDR3 Ram
WD Black 1TB HDD
Sandisk 128g SSD
MSI FM2 A75IA-e53
Cooler Master 600i
x1 120mm case fan
Corsair h60i cpu cooler.

is a paltry 348 Watts.

*Meaning either I calculated wrong or I grossly overestimated the necessary power

Thanks for the giveaway!

Don't have a wattmeter, but rig is:

i5 4670k stock (for now, waiting for cooler to come in)
gtx 660 OCed to 1118/1565 @1.175v
6 120mm fans (4 w/LEDs)
2 4gb ddr3 modules 1600mhz @1.5v
3 hdds
1 dvd drive
OCZ 750w PSU (Hoping for a huge gpu upgrade soon)

Not sure exactly on the wattage, but i doubt i use 500 watts at 100% load

#21 ·
965 BE
7850
2x SSD, 2x Spin drives

I'm using a CX500 but l doubt l've ever used more than 250w. My most demanding game is Witcher 2 so under heavy load it's probably 240w at most.

#22 ·
AMD Athlon ii x2 215
2x 80gb hdd
GTS450 at 1GhZ
CX430.

I'd estimate at at least 350 watts for a full load; 3 virtual machines and 1 physical.

#25 ·
3770k (4.4 w/ 1.25)
6950 (flashed to 6970)
6950 (unlocked shaders)
Both cards at 930/1375 (960/1425 before)
AX850

I reckon I pull... 650 full load on everything, and 475-525 on games?

I think there is a Watt meter is my fathers garage but its old and I'm not sure if it works. I could give it a go once I go look for it.

Ivy Bridge 3770k @ 4.5ghz
Crossfire Radeon 7950 @ 1100MHz/1575MHz
12gb of Tactical Ballistx Ram

Just my sig rig.

Not sure of wattage but my PSU has 850w. I will try to do some testing for you if I find it.
