Hello,i am thinking about buying ax1200i but as i read many people complain about the fan clicking noise. Is this a common problem?Or should i just buy the ax1200 without having any trouble?

What do you need to power since you need 1200 watts

#4 ·
You dont need 1200 watts for that unless you are going to overvolt

Dont even know if you can overvolt GTX 680 cards?

Anyway its massive overkill all you need is a 750 watts PSU maybe 850 but not more

I've owned both the AX1200 and AX1200i and never had the clicking sound problem with either of them. The corsair RMA is pretty painless (if you do cross shipping) so if there's a problem you could always RMA it. Corsair doesn't pay for shipping the defective part back to them). If you live far from CA then be ready for high shipping cost.

The AX1200 is a true single rail and AX1200i is advertised as single rail but it's a multi-rail PSU. The pros and cons of single vs multi-rail PSU is discussed at this thread:

Cooler Master V850 you dont need more wattage then that

Or if money is not a problem the NZXT HALE 90 V2 850 watts or the Antec High Current Pro Platinum 850 watts

Go for an 850w with a a good OEM.

Look at the powersupply guides on the forums, people buy these gamer branded crap oems that fry their hardware.

thanks all for the much information.Currently i have corsair hx 850 v1 which is almost 4 years old. This time i want something very powerful for at least for 5-6 years because i may upgrade my pc components like quad gpu etc.
The best psu i can get in my country either ax 1200 or ax1200i .I want to buy ax1200i and i need more 1200i user opinions about the fan clicking issue.

You dont need a new PSU its a waste of money

If you buy a PSU too big you will drop its efficiency you might as well buy yourself an 80 plus bronze PSU

The AX1200i is also a ripoff and its not worth the price they ask for it

I have a new 1200i because its what I could get locally. I'd choose the 1200 since it is Seasonic made and the 1200i is not. But the 1200i is still a very good PSU and I cannot hear any clicking. The fan doesn't even turn on until the PC is under load and by that time, you will probably have many other fans going on in the system. Anyway, no clicking here, it is a solid unit. It is also overpriced.

its not Seasonic made

The AX1200 and AX1200i is not made by Seasoinc

This. I wouldn't go for high wattage power supplies that aren't extremely high quality OEMs because it's even more dangerous with that amount of current and

Even the best OEM can make something bad

So dont treat OEM´s better then brands

its the brands that ask the OEM for a PSU so its the brand that controls what is going on

All manufactured items can be bad, some manufacturers have less bad products than others

Yes i would take a Seasoinc made PSU any day over a Golden Tiger made PSU

But even Seasoinc can slip up

They made a series for Antec which was just a trainwreck

Or look at the CWT made Corsair RM series which is also a trainwreck

Again why do you want to waste money for ZERO reason

If you have too much money spend it one something that would be usefull

You dont need a new PSU it would be a waste of money

Also overkill on the PSU is a bad idea you dont want to have too much wattage

No it drops your efficiency

You might as well buy a bronze rated PSU

So its a waste of money buying and a waste of power on your power bill after

Really the PSU you have now is still very good you wont find many that are much better

You still have a year left on the warranty so you maybe in a year you could replace it

Right now it does not make a lot of sense

Unless you want to have more video cards in that case you do need more wattage

Pretty cool that they sell the HighPower Astro Gold GD and PT on that site
