What are you acctually asking for when you say 1.6 FPS Settings?

I run mine at 1024x768 makes it feel a bit better, and installing custom skins/models for weapons, grenades, people, bombs makes it look a lot better.

(these have skins for most hl and hl2 variations)

You know how the lines looked ripped and rugged with it off? On ledges, gun corners etc.

The more you have, the more they will look perfectly smooth and nice since they blur the edges of the pixels more and more so that everything blends in properly.

The AF makes you be able to see distance better, and allows you to see more clearly when an object is far away.

However, the best thing to do to make a game look better, is make the resolution really high like 1280x1024 as it compacts in more pixels, allowing for a much clearer and sharper image.

Or both. lol. I just tried need for speed underground (the first one) with 8xs AA and 16x AF...with the resolution set to 1240x960 or something....and it looks amazing...though still kind of jaggy *shrugs*
