Hi All

Im the new owner of the RIVBE.

I have worked with a few ASUS X79 MOB's with settings being similar between them, results as well.

The RIVBE is quite a different animal!!

I have a lot of questions about OC'ing this beast, as it behaves much differently.

atm I have found the best success setting the core clock, 4.8, and offset @ +.05-.055.

It runs great with the rest on auto, defaults to 1.36-1.37 Vcore, low vccsa.. .85ish.

I firstly want to understand the CPU current capability defaulting @ %180, even with no OC, when %140 is redline

How is this safe?

CPU is 3930K

Feeling NOOB'ish

Don't know why over 140% is red in the settings, but anything but 180% will have my computer reboot under load.

180% is perfectly safe though, been using that setting since the RIVE and now R4BE, so the past few years. Had the R4BE since it first came out.

Thanks for your reply

So the RIVE defaults to 180% as well?

I have the RIV Formula, it doesnt set it so high.

Asus must have found a better auto OC formula or added bios feature.

maybe? Anyhow...it works. Thx again
