So I have a g2 80gb Intel drive with the newest FW. I also have Windows 7 and checked that TRIM is enabled and it is. So this may be a dumb question, but how do I actually know it is being used? Does it automatically run every "xxxxx" day or something? Do I have to manually run it sometimes?

oh you have to enable trim in windows 7 ? where do i do this?

but were is it so i can check it

type "fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify" in cmd. If responce is 0 it is on.

Windows 7 ask's the SSD for it's platter speed rate if it responds 0 then Windows 7 automatically enables trim.

It is that simple, and it works great. Enjoy your SSD, best computer part I have ever bought!

typed it in and clicked on it and it boots up and disappears?

Open CMD by either typing cmd in the Run dialog box (WinKey+R), or just open the Start menu and type cmd and press Enter.

After that, copy/paste fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify into it and then press Enter (right-click and choose Paste because Ctrl+V does not register as Paste in the Command Prompt).

When you press Enter, it will give you a response. If it says DisableDeleteNotify = 0, then TRIM is enabled. But if it gives you a 1, then it's not.

I tried it myself and it works fine, gave me 0. You have to do it from the OS on the SSD not from another OS. And don't type in the quotes, besides that I don't know what the problem could be?

I don't know why, but that's not good enough. What's even stranger is that even if it says your account type is "Administrator", it will still ask you to run things like cmd.exe as an Aministrator.

So, if this becomes annoying, then you may be able to change this a little bit. But damn, I am having trouble remembering how I did it. I'm kinda trying to remember right now.
