Do Razer Synapse 2.0 need to be running in the background with a Razer Naga?

So if I understand this right, when you change settings on a Razer Naga using Synapse 2.0, the settings are stored in the mouse firmware. This means that Razer Synapse does not need to be kept running on the system, correct? I only need to open it when I want to change a setting and then I can close it again?

Also, does Synapse notify me of new firmware for the mouse?

Synapse 2.0: Latest hopefully (it says no updates available)

Synapse will notify you about updates if you have it online not offline
If you can though I say use leagcy driver it provides better dpi tracking http://www.razersupport.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=viewdownload&downloaditemid=510

Yes but will the settings have effect if Synapse is not running? For example DPI settings. Must the software be running or is it saved on the mouse firmware?

Um I dont think so cause when using the deathadder 3.5 g with synapse it didnt save it it like it had no on board memory even though it did

I have the DA 2013, changed settings through synapse, uninstalled synapse and the settings where saved.

Update on this: If Synapse is not running, some settings like DPI seems to be saved on mouse but special button configs are not. Learned it the hard way in the middle of a WoW raid.
