Just upgraded my build that had a 3070 in it and swapped it out for a 3080. My CPU is just a 3700x so with the GPU and CPU it should be about 440w max.
But I also have all 4 slots of ram in use, 9 case fans , an AIO cooler , an m.2 drive plus 1 internal HDD and 3 external hdd's. I would have thought that would add 160w tops and that would take the total usage to 600w.
But I'm assuming it's not a great idea to run it on a 650w due to possible momentary spikes?
I do have a 1000w rm Corsair that I was using in a racing setup with a 2080 super so I can just swap them around if it is an issue. Ftr I haven't had an issue YET with the 3080 on the 650w PSU.
Cheers.
