Cant believe eVGA announced they will be exiting the GPU world. I have so many eVGA GPU's that are still under full warranty for many more years.... am I just out of luck?

Well if you watch or listen to the Gamer's Nexus video, Steve is right if EVGA wish to keep being in the GPU business it is best they do so now while their brand still holds sway in that area. Doing it 2 to 3 years later will not give EVGA as much leverage as their relevancy in that area will have waned.

EVGA specifically said they are keeping stock for warranty replacements, so nothing should change for you at all. The one thing that could be an issue is if you card goes bad when they run out, and it's still under warranty. They have a three year warranty, at least on the 3080 TI FTW cards. I am curious to see what they do if some cards come in during the 3rd year, and they have none left. I wonder if they will buy-out the customer or purchase another brand of card to supply them with?
EVGA is about the only company I would trust at this point to honour their warranty even under these circumstances.

I bought my 3090 FTW3 direct from EVGA with an optional 10 year warranty with advanced replacement for $60. I don't think there will be anything to exchange in 5 years let alone 10 years. At least it was only $60.
What I'm wondering is why so close to a new card release. Surely they didn't decide this in the last day or two. Why didn't they tell consumers sooner.

Would love a AMD EVGA GPU but it does not look that is happening. Also I can see if EVGA does such a move, they will enter after all this mining market crash is over 1-2 years from now with next next gen cards.

And eVGA is such a good brand. Did Steve from Gamer's Nexus say they only had a 12%? mark up from Nvidia and when they purchase stock and the prices drop it costs them and they can't compete with Nvidia's own line price dropping. That's something that needs to change, a company like Nvidia short changing board manufactures is a sly move.

Maybe a solution would be near the end of the life of the series they could buy in smaller lot amounts and have a guaranty of no price change for a fixed amount of time.
Hard business to be in, kind of like how Intel bins it's chips and put silicon lottery out of business.

One problem I foresee is a lack of supply initially, particularly in NA. It'll take time for the other AIB partners to ramp up production to make up for EVGA's market share. It won't be as bad as 30 series of course, but it could be tough to get a card for a while (worse than normal anyway).

Actually it's primarily in NA that it probably won't be a problem. Newegg is China owned, so it can just force a bunch of China only AIB Partners (Like Colorful and Yeston), through newegg to capitalize on this. And this will force Amazon to co-operate with China more to compete.

I know recently when purchasing my 3090, a lot of the 3rd gen cards are being sold a lot more as prices seemed to have dropped. Evga in particular they did have some in stock, but of the 2nd gen. 3rd gen was sold out completely with Evga branding. I went with Gigabyte as they offer a 4 year warranty. Plus another two years with the retailer I purchased it from.
