hose of us who were disappointed by yesterday's 'Let's talk iPhone' event by Apple are now looking forward to Samsung and Google's 'Unpacked' event scheduled for October 11 in San Diego. It seems though that we will be in for a treat after looking at the teaser video that Samsung has just released.

The current Nexus S has curved glass as well. It provides two benefits:
1) When swiping vertically, it makes it easier your finger moves around your joint... so it feels more natural.
2) When placing the screen face down, it keeps the center of the screen from touching the surface and reduces scratching around the more important area of the display.

now THAT is a phone I'm looking forward to... however it's not HTC... =(
I REALLY love the HTC Sense keyboard... I tried Cyanogenmod... it was good and smooth and nice and a lot of the features were great... but it missed one HUGE IMPORTANT thing... the HTC Keyboard... I just can't live without it now... so I reverted back to the Sensation's Sense ROM...

oh and the weather app's nice too =b... as well as the Sense look in general...

never keep these newer phones in your pocket. Even if it has gorilla glass, It can scratch the whole phone up. My nexus s feels very natural in my pocket even in tight jeans.

The curvature will allow it to better fit in your jeans since your thigh/hip is curved...

I have played around with my brother in law's Nexus S and I really like the feel of the curved glass. I just dislike the plastic body. I wish more phones were aluminum body's like the original Droid. I guess it's a piece of mind sort of thing that the aluminum body gives me that I like.

Either way I am excited to see what it will be.

Hopefully it's not the Nexus S, S. Now with a fancy camera so you can feel super suave standing next to real photographers and their puny DSLR's...

the curved screen on the nexus s is awesome. (I'm on mine right now.) it also curves around your face a little when talking on the phone. (you know, that's what phones are for xD)

on looking forwards to this but I've only had my phone for a year on a 3 year contract. It can still do what I need it too. although I want the prime real bad, ill hold out (unless I find a cheap one)

Funny when I had a Nexus S;

A; My screen scratched.

B; The curve is so slight you can't feeling the difference by swiping up only along the edges.

i've never had a problem with samsung's build quality. samsungs just feel cheap. htc feels cheap compared to an iphone also but there is nothing wrong with htc's build quality.

True i had the Samsung Vibrant it was a great phone and stood up to a lot of punishment. it felt light and plasticey but the truth of it is it had the durability of a peace of steal i dropped mine so many times and never had a case on it never chipped and screen never cracked

A) Reduction of scratching does not mean won't scratch. The curvature does reduces scratches to the center screen due to particulates on a flat surface.
B) It is subtle but there is difference. Grab a flat phone and play with both for awhile.
