One of the most prevalent companies in the consumer power supply realm, and general enthusiast PC realm, is Antec. Antec is a company that has been kicking around the PC DIY market since 1986 and in that time frame has become one of its most widely known brand names. In addition to power supplies Antec has product lines that include cases for work and play, cooling solutions, lighting, and other accessories. Over the years Antec has used a number of OEM providers for their power supplies including HEC, CWT, FSP, Enhance, Seasonic, and recently Delta. Some of the older Antec/CWT solutions were notorious for being plagued by the "Fuhjiyyu sudden death syndrome," but in the last couple of years or so Antec has dropped these older designs in favor of new products. Today we will be looking at an offering from Antec that comes from Delta once more, in the Antec High Current Pro 1200W (HCP-1200).

Domination, complete and total domination.
The fact that it's so quiet is only the icing on the cake

currently, there are really very few new options in the 1200w range that are on the market. We recently reviewed the corsair ax1200 and that unit easily swiped the crown of best 1200w unit on the market not just because of this malaise but also because it was certainly the best 1200w unit on the market at the time. Today though, the antec hcp-1200 is here and after everything we have seen it represents more than a legitimate contender to that crown of best 1200w unit on the market as the hcp-1200 seemingly matched the ax1200 stride for stride and pulled ahead in most tests.

Yes frickfrock99, but is it crunchy in the center and does it have a smooth chocolaty cover?

80 PLUS® Gold-certified is good. If you use it at 50% power draw it sips so little power you would think its off.

Flextronics makes a LOT more than just XBox PSUs. Delta just has more experience with consumer products.

700w (600/.86) is still a noticable amount of power.

Did you even read the review? They clearly state that the Antec HCP1200 is better then the Corsair AX1200 in almost every way.

Why? OW and JG are not the only ones who can do a proper PSU review.

This is not really a subjective review.... the numbers speak for themselves.

For that price, I'd get the AX1200. The cable sleeving is superior.
