Humidity and glass pads

Steelseries Icemat is my main mousepad. There is an issue with it in Summer: every stain of sweat, no matter how small or thin, increases friction dramatically if the mouse feet are on it. Ironically, my newest mice are the most affected ones. Whether it's an effect of light weight, or the fact that they are all equipped with much better PTFE than older ones, it's hard to say.

Is there a glass pad (or non-glass with the same feel and speed) that is less sensitive to sweat or, more generally, humidity?

you are going to experience this with every single glass pad, it's just how glass is. even if it's surfaced differently it will still experience this.

if you aren't already, you can try using an arm sleeve, there are also some products that you can use to lessen the sweat on your hands, though i don't know how bad that is for your hands themselves. my friend has used them before and had great results with (seemingly) no bad side effects.

personally when im gaming, the sweat of my hands dont rly get on the pad at all (at least not to the point of it changing friction).

this is the arm sleeve i use. i don't like most of the arm sleeves that these companies (even skypad) provides because it doesn't cover the bottom of my hand, which is another source of stickiness. i have rly sweaty hands, so i try to avoid it as much aspossible

I might suggest reducing sweat, i mean more AC? If not, then maybe try to find a way to tackle it. Perhaps put a small fan blowing directly on your hand/mouse and maybe it can evaporate before getting on glass.

I do wonder is something like rainx could work. Maybe cleaning it with a rainx type spray and the water beads instead of smearing?

got to be alternatives....

An old trick against sweat is talcum powder. People used to use it frequently in the past. OP maybe you can apply some perfumed talcum powder on your arm/wrist and see if you can go longer before the issue occurs?

Since it's a glass pad I can imagine the powder might cause gliding issues, so maybe apply the powder and then wear one those sleeves on top.
