Corsair is just getting their hands into everything these days. Here is a new bit about the companies latest venture into audio peripherals. It only begs the question, when will we see the obligatory Corsair Killer NIC?

Corsair today announced the launch of their inaugural audio product, the Gaming Audio Series HS1 USB gaming headset. This noise-isolating headset offers long-term playing comfort and immersive multi-channel audio, with massive 50mm drivers and a carefully tuned acoustical design optimized not only for gaming, but for movies and music as well.

This, seriously.

All those cheap USB headsets sound the same anyway. Trying to sell on brand name alone I guess.

Also from the article:

"We set out to develop a headset with the performance that gamers demand, while also providing the pristine audio reproduction required for multi-channel movies and high bit rate music," stated Jim Carlton, Vice President of Marketing at Corsair. "The Audio HS1 easily meets both these challenges."

Lol. Its USB. If it really was going to be a high quality headset it wouldn't be using USB.

Yay Corsair! They make good products, keep em coming.

If anything, it is just more competition in different markets, which is only good for buyers.

Damn it corsair, focus on your strong points and not abuse your brand name. It's better for the long run to have a few categories in which one is great at to being the jack of all trades that does nothing great but only average.

I don't like that style of headset, but it looks ok.

I don't want a USB headset either, Switching sound devices in annoying when wanting to listen to my speakers.

I think Corsair will be able to make this a good headset, they have amazing products, all with amazing quality.

As for the USB vs 3.5mm Majority of gamers don't have Sound Cards, and if you do have one, you shouldn't even been looking at a product like this. USB can be better than onboard, so I can see why they made this choice.

FireWire > USB
Ask any audiophile who use TC Electronic PowerCore or other sound rack for music and sound composing.

Don't see the point in these. If I want decent headphones my first thought isn't Corsair, that's for sure.

I have an old pair of Logitech gaming headphones that suit me just fine and under $20.
Not really an audiophile anymore Was when I was younger but after many, many concerts the hearing isnt what it used to be.
