I received this monitor on the 19th of December and I really didn't have high expectations from the beginning since I've never heard of 'irun' before But I am pleasantly surprised.

PROS
  • No backlight bleed/dead pixels
  • VESA mount point on the back so you can change out the stand with ease
  • No decals whatsoever except for an irun logo at the bottom
  • Same panel as other S. Korean monitors and looks identical to my premium Yamakasi Catleap
  • Stand does not wobble
CONS
  • The stand it comes with is a bit short so it may be shorter than your other monitors if you have multiple.
  • Speakers are much better than some other S. Korean panels but are not very high quality..

I'm really glad I got this and saved a bit of money and the seller BigClothCraft was very helpful and answered all my questions within a day. I purchased this exact display http://www.ebay.com/itm/130818857306?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

I'm looking to buy an irun.

So how is it going with the one you guys have?

I was looking at the Shimian too, but with my reading of the shimian monitors club and seeing all the people that have problem with it. I 'm not sure if i want to test with these.

+ I know its not much and probably means nothing but the seller bigclothcraft is recommanding this one over all the other korean monitors.

To be honest I doubt there is much difference between all the different models and now that the prices have gone up also on the "irun" you might aswell go for the one you find better looking. I picked mine up because it costed me 340 USD instead of 400+ for a pixel perfect monitor. From all the positive feedback on eBay and here I can only say that the "irun" seems like a safe buy in terms of stability and component quality, atleast for now as we can't foresee problems that might occur further down the road.

The ebay seller (bigclothcraft) who sells a ton of these monitors, said that he's had the least amount of problems with them over the other brands. This, and the lower price was why I went with them.

The price has increased a bit since I bought it, so I'm guessing that it is true, and that the quality should be good. They probably checked ours out, and didn't notice many flaws (I'm hoping), and increased the price because of it and the demand. Mine arrive monday.

Just bought two of these. One for me and one for my friend. Mine worked just fine out of the box, but after upgrading to the latest NVidia drivers it just went into a startup loop. Downgrading solved that and hopefully NVidia will resolve the issue (since others seem to encounter issues with them). I have 2 weird pixels, but it's absolutely no problem. I drive it from the cheapest ASUS 210 graphics card.

My friends monitor died after a couple of minutes, so he had to "rip" it open (which was easy) and refit a couple of cables. Now everything is up and running.

Got both my Iruns today. I didn't pay for pixel perfect, but I got two monitors that work with no problems, and no dead pixels.

I have them on a dual monitor mount, so I can't comment on the stands. The black levels aren't near my Panasonic ST50, but these panels are way better than the 24" TN panels I had previously.

What a great deal, these monitors seem to be worth it. I could probably use a calibration profile though. It looks good out of the box, but I know it can probably get even better.

I recieved my screen two days ago and when it works it's fantastic. The first time I fired it up the screen was all green and all the other colours were screwed up so I just restarted the screen and my computer to see if it fixed the problem, it did and it ran just fine for the rest of the day. Same procedure yesterday and it worked throughout the day just fine. Today it took around 10 restarts to get it working and after the latest restart it wont work normaly at all. Here is a video of the problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNWyjJYXqAw

I wouldn't be that upset if I have to send it back but I'm not to fond of the thought of having to pay custom fees another time as they were 60 €. Hopefully it's something that can be fixed by BCC sending me a new PCB or something along those lines. Glad the rest of you got monitors that are fully working!

Could be something as simple as a loose cable inside. Ask the seller.

I was thinking so aswell, but I don't think that is the cause since the screen works perfectly sometimes and when it does work as it should, the problem doesn't occur until it's restarted. I'm now awaiting a reply from BCC to see what needs to be done.

Yeah whenever that's happened to me it's just a loose cable. Good luck getting it fixed.

Ouch, haven't heard of this one before.

I think it's fair to say that the Iruns are not without their fair share of problems. Whether they're worse than any of the others I don't know, but the assembling leaves a bit to be desired.

I had to disassemble mine (it faded to dark after a few seconds of active use), but refitting (just nudging into place, really) the inner connectors seems to have solved that. My friend's Irun had exactly the same problem and solution.

It's very easy to open the enclosure, without causing any damage, so you shouldn't be afraid of trying that. Of course, as is common with all monitors, don't just pry apart the panel from the assembly with force, since the internal connecting cables are quite short and you don't want to risk ripping them out of their solders.

I think I'll try to open my monitor to see if all the internal connectors are well in place as I can't quite pinpoint my issue, that would atleast eliminate one posibility. I tried unscrewing the case before and the bottom + top of the casing seemed to come of pretty easily, but in the middle of both sides there seemed to be something stopping me from prying it apart. Should I just keep pulling it apart or are there any plastic details that might be damaged?

EDIT: Used a plasic butterknife to pry the two plastic clips apart without leaving any traces of opening it. One connector seemed a bit loose (DVI-input to screen, which would also be the only one being able to cause the problems I'm having) so lets hope that was the problem. Screen seems to be working for now atleast.

EDIT #2: Did it fix anything? Nope

Restarted my computer and same result with the green boot logo and this is what it looks like when Windows has booted - http://i.imgur.com/x7IEx.jpg

Plenty of black screws to remove the bezel, then even more silvery screws to remove the panel from the main case. At least for me. After that, the only thing keeping it together was the internal cabling, which certainly can be pulled out, but for me it was enough to really squeeze the connections together (at least it works now).

Your problem looks a bit different, though, so your milage may certainly vary.

Get in touch with the reseller.
