Fast, cheap, tested Marvell controller, MLC, a power-protection capacitor... I like the BX100.
The BX100 utilizes a Silicon Motion Controller and has no power-protection circuit...

Whoops, got it confused with the MX200

Yes you're right. It still uses MLC flash though, right?

It's not about the flash modules it's about the caching and without slc caching which protects against write burn out, this drive is really a risk and should be stupid cheap to justify the ymmv aspect in regards to write life. I see no reason to buy this drive if it's not substantially cheaper than comparable drives.

Unless the MX200 has dedicated SLC NAND for use as cache, I really don't see how the "dynamic SLC" function will protect against write burn out. As far as I'm aware, the driving reason for using MLC/TLC in SLC mode is speed rather than longevity.

Norway is a very small market (~5M pop) but also the richest per capita country in the Western World. (Luxembourg is a "city").
Don't complain, you can "take it".

We cannot have it our way all the time, can we?
A rich country should mean "low wage" ppl are making more, services and products through-out supported/performed by high-wage ppl cost more.
Trust me, you have it better than 99% of ppl in the US and the huge majority of the world - weather aside. =)

Sonartica, any reason you are going for the BX100 instead of Samsung 850 EVO or the MX100?
They are all priced the same at 223$ / 1800 NOK.

Just curious.

I always check with that website before buying anything.

Stuff is expensive enough already here in Norway.
Yeah, but "komplett.no" is the only site i buy pc parts from as i get free shipping and also keeping all of my receipts in one place
