yeah, i know its a laptop not meant for overclocking, no proper cooling, ect...i already know that.

i wonder if is possible to oc this cpu, and how to do it.

it has 1.7ghz base clock and goes up to 2.4ghz turbo clock on 2 cores and 2.7ghz in one single core...

i think if i could make 2.7ghz as a base clock it would benefit quite alot...they undervolt and underclock this chip on purpose to reduce power consumption not because the cooling isnt enough.

You're missing the point. The thermal cooling solution in your laptop is designed for the lower power consumption CPU - if you smacked a 4700MQ in there, it'd burn up. =) Laptop engineers build the system around the CPU, not the other way around.

Dont even waste brain cell researching how to OC a laptop CPU. A lot of us here have gone through that phase years ago.

Get the program from TechPowerUp called "ThrottleStop". This will allow you to create custom profiles and lock in the turbo boost on your processor. You can lock in the turbo frequency when the chip is under load or all the time. You also can set it for maximum power savings with a really low clock when running on battery. I love the program. Just wish I had a better CPU... i5-560m.ew

after a bit of research i found that i need to modify my bios in order to get access to advanced options in my bios, so i can change me cpu frequencies...

the bad thing is that is very complicated...i have to go through ida language which i never used before and the guide i found was complicated as hell

im not sure im going to do this right now, maybe in the future i can brick my laptop if i fail

i softbricked my smartphone once but i got it back and now i change custom roms weekly, but im afraid to brick my laptop for good.

I have a Toshiba L55-B5294 from Costco with a i5-4210u processor in it. The fan in this laptop is rather large so it can move a lot of air without much noise. The heatsink is small though.

(EDIT: this was a confusion on my part. Laptop doesn't throttle itself.)

The CPU stays at maximum 2-core Turbo (2.4GHZ) continuously at full load, temperatures stay at about 55 Celsius with the fan at a low to medium speed.

Not all laptops with a low voltage CPU have a crappy cooling system. With Haswell especially and newer, the GPU is quite a bit of the silicon, so the CPU really doesn't take that much power. The Toshiba Eco-utility is saying the laptop is taking 28 watts at full load at full turbo all the time. Barely warm to the touch on the bottom.

Any way to have the CPU in 1-core Turbo, 2.7GHZ continuously for both cores?
Thanks
