Last month, Mojang submitted a Minecraft project on LEGO Cuusoo, a site that gives amateur LEGO artisans a shot at creating an official set of bricks. Said project managed to accrue the required 10,000 supporters in a matter of days and has since been under review by the fine people at LEGO.
My first news post, not sure if it is even really news, but I found it funny. Penny-Arcade's comic also refers to it as well.

now if you could only submit a section of a world (building structure etc) and get all the pieces to make an actual model of it

I could see this making Lego a lot of money as most of the people who played with Legos as kids are playing Minecraft nowadays

Indeed, we don't envy the task of translating the vibrant world of Minecraft into a set of sparsely detailed square blocks.
I'm not digging on Minecraft but thats the dumbest thing I've ever read. They don't envy the task of having to translater digital sparsely detailed square blocks into physical sparsely detailed square blocks.

Difficult.

Love the idea..but I think ill stick it with on the computer cause it won't include billions of lego's and my fingers won't hurt after building for a hour..I used to hate playing with lego's for long enough my fingers just killed me XD
