Need for Speed: Underground resolution issue

So, after installing the game (v1.1), I could set the max. resolution to 1366x766 (ASUS UL30A notebook) (with two thick black bars left and right). But after updating the graphic drivers, the max. resolution was 1024x768 (again, with two thick black bars left and right)...

Does anyone know how to resolve the two black bar and resolution issie?

Thanks,

Ben

I have the same game and wanted to play it in 1440x900, for that i know i used a little app that would set the default game resoltion into the one i wanted, but i can't remember the name of the app.

This is the direct link to the patcher:

Thanks! +REP for that! I'll check it out!

Edit: It's not working... When I look for the folder, enter the correct resolution and attempt to patch I get the following error message:

"Unable to write to file SPEED.EXE for patch #1! Close all programs/games before patching."

But there where no programs/games running, what the?

Nope. It has an Intel GPU in it, lol.

You may have user account control on, if you are running Windows 7 or Vista. First, copy Speed.exe to another location (like the desktop) and apply the patch to that newly made file. Then, rename the unpatched Speed.exe in the program files folder something else to keep it as back up, and copy the patched Speed.exe (the one you copied to the Desktop, in example) over to the programs folder.

In summary: you need to move speed.exe to a location where Windows doesn't protect it from being edited, then you need to move it back to play the game.
