Oh wow, an MX518 clone. Was my first gaming mouse so that brings back memories. Do wish I hadn't given it to a friend years back so I could see if I still like the shape, but the mouse hoarder in me says I'll probably pick this thing up anyway.

Yeah, finally some company got the intelligence to re-make this world famous shape.

Pity it wasn't Logitech since it was theirs to begin with but if someone else decides to fire up the molds and pour plastic into it, then it's worth a purchase without question.

Having finally a 3366 sensor inside it helps to make it possibly one of the best forth coming input devices yet seen.

Would also like to see Huano switches placed everywhere inside the case and of course, a decent Alps scroll wheel to raise it above all the other 'inferior' scrollers that are currently available.

Assuming this thing is actually keeping the dimensions of the MX518, 100g isn't so bad since that puts it roughly halfway between an EC1 and IME3.0 in terms of weight and IIRC it's halfway between them in terms of size too.

Same here :thumb: .

This could be the BEST ever Nixeus mouse release thus far.

Who would of thought a re-release of that famous shape using the current sensor and hoping, decent switches and scroller (you hear that Pete) could make this the ONLY mouse model worth getting for 2018.

Also whilst your looking at reintroducing any past shapes, why not look at re-releasing the former Logitech G1 or G3 shaped wonder, using a 3360 sensor and Alps scroller?

This is going to make a lot of friends of mine very happy. They keep harping on how the MX518 / G5 was the best mouse ever. Well, I can stop having to think what to give them for their birthdays.

I was more of a G3 man myself, so I echo the sentiments above that if you're going to continue raising legends from the dead, please do the G3 next.

Just like the G5 there's nothing even remotely like it anymore.

Oh and BTW: I have no FB but would love to see the real photo.

Pete could be onto a winner here because NO one else is resurrecting old mouse shapes and putting 3360 sensors inside them.

Nixeus could be the final END-game for anyone wanting their past favorite mouse shapes, back into their hands again.

The money is there and no one else has followed this course so Pete could be the very first company doing this, so maybe in the far future we might all get an WMO, IE 3.0 and IO1.1 using 3360 sensors inside them as well.

So Pete stop looking for different and weird shapes for your mice, get with the program here and start reproducing brilliant mice from our past because they do exist and you have the opportunity to gain preference from all those who still worship these models.

Yeah i know that Roccat has the PMW3361 on exclusivity but the specification of it pretty matches a primary, factory PMW3360.
Roccat added their own SROM and firmware but it doesn't really change the character of this sensor - it's still the PMW3360.
Inside in PMW3360 family, only PMW3366 makes a diffrence - two frames of smoothing on all DPI steps.

People have been saying that the 336X sensors have smoothing for a while now, mainly on quake from what I understand, because some guy released a video saying that the sensors had smoothing at 12,000 and 3150 dpi when he tested them on a linear drive tool. People assumed it was at every dpi step. People who play quake have been playing with deathadders because the 3389 apparently has no smoothing at any dpi (although I'm not sure how accurate that is) and say that it feels much better than 336x versions.

It's not about being serious... Lmao sometimes I wonder.

400, 800 and 1600 DPI are all fiiiiine. It's just whether you actually need the extra precision or not. You can tell that they're all distinct in precision though.

I mean seriously, whether I use 400 DPI and 2.4 sensitivity in CS or 800 DPI and 1.2, 800 DPI and 2.0 sensitivity or 1600 DPI and 1.0 sensitivity.. It won't matter much because the amount of degrees you're allowed to move your crosshair still is small enough to do precise long range shots. I use 400 DPI and 3.1 sensitivity in both Quake and CS. If I aim at someone's head from a far distance it won't make me skip over his head or something, so it's fine.

But if 1600 DPI makes you secure about it then that's cool also. I just don't like the extra fine movement from it.

So I really wouldn't bother using a higher DPI unless you prefer the smoothness from the extra counts or you use something really high like 4.5 @ 400 DPI in CS (but then I would question if it should really be set this high in the first place for a game like this).

But nonetheless, I'm really excited that there's gonna be an MX518 with a good sensor and hopefully even better build quality. Knowing Nixeus it'll even be affordable as well.

As you should.

Pete has done something marvellous with his dirt cheap Revel mouse, which is currently available.

It simply works and is the best gaming mouse anywhere available today.

I suspect this latest Ergo Mouse will achieve that very same status so all those 'Shysters' making heavy and expensive mice, need to run and hide when this baby gets delivered to all the Gamer's out there.
