Hey Guys!
Today i tried to overclock my system. I read it is no problem at all to get the 4.5 ghz. Since I did not strive so much, but would have been very satisfied with just 4 ghz. I saw a video where somebody does the same, but with an Asus Z170A, but I thought it would be similar to me. Apart from the boot performence mode, I also found and set everything up.
But every time I want to start the system, it goes into safe mode and I come after a reboot in the bios. Then I've put everything logical further down. But no matter what value I have used, over 100 I did not come, so the series value. Even at 105 it was not.
Can it really be that I can not get out of the system at all, or did I do something wrong?
Here is my setup
CPU: i5 6500 4x 3,2ghz
GTX 1060 3gb
Board: Asus Z-170P
RAM: 2x 4GB DRR4 2400ghz
Power Adapter 630W
Coolermaster Hyper TX3 CPU-Cooler

Unless you OC incorrectly you're not going to affect its life span.

Please name the brand and model of your PSU and not just the wattage
And yes that matters a lot if you are trying to overclock and a bad PSU will limit your OC and how stable it is

No good 630 watt PSU springs to mind

Indeed.
All I can add is this one has saved my butt more than once, not to mention money and time too.

Instead of having to order a chip and wait, I just took one and flashed it, problem solved. In the case of the OCF last week didn't have any worries at all, just did the deed and ..... Done.

Asus doesn't allow you to downgrade bios? Sad to hear this. My ASRock allows me to flash an older version without any hassle. Did it as the latest version kills SkyOC (bclk oc).

It depends on what BIOS you update to. When I was originally on the base clock BIOS I could back flash, but once you upgrade to the one after the base clock BIOS it's blocked. I assumed it was Intel being pissy and forcing them to but maybe not if you can on your AsRock board.
