I think your PSU might be to blame. I had the same one and it kept turning off the pc under high load and power spikes with a 6900XT. Swapped to a corsair 850 and no problems so far. I'll recieve my 7900XTX later today. Will def report my findings here.

Quick question, to which I think I know the answer already, but just to confirm.

Those are temps on completely stock Red Devil 7900 XTX after few minutes of Doom Eternal:

The junction is waaaaaayyyy to high, right (35 C delta, ***?) ?

I found some posts on reddit where other people were facing similiar issues with the hot spot temp on Red Devil XTX and apparently the best fix for this was to repaste the card.

Now the rant part. I must say I am angry right now. Over 1k for a card and I don't even get properly laid paste on the GPU? Now I have to repaste it myself and void warranty, cause I can already see the email from PowerColor saying that this is completely normal situation. This is a joke really.

If you are not happy with the card, return or replace it. Some spread is to be expected in terms of production quality, even on a 1k card. Just return it if its still in the return window and see if another card is better.
