PSp underpowered?

I notice in a lot of games the psp struggles to keep up. Low Frame Rate on a lot of sports games. is it the games are too Ps2 power requirement or is the thing just underpowerred?

either your impatient or your lens is messed. because its a UMD, and most readers are broken easily.. thats what im thinkin.. get it RMA'ed.

Not any worse than the PS2's load times. 'Course I wasn't really looking for it, but I didn't notice it.

The PSP is has softwired cap on its frame rate to preserve battery life. The cap is lower than what was advertised last year, which raised a small uproar when people found out. Sony said that the cap can be raised to what they said last year in software though at the cost of a shorter battery life, but I don't think any games do that yet.

And load times are slow on every game. UMD is apparently a pretty darn slow format.
