Samsung 970 Evo Plus

Hi,

I've just had a quick look at two SSD's - Both of them M.2 - Please see enclosed speeds for Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB SSD.

OK, these are the speeds I've been reading about and personally think these are FAST!

The other SSD M.2 was a WD Black 512 GB M.2 PCI-e & scored speeds of around 1500 MB/s read & 800 MB/s for write speed.

The WD Black drive is older but why are the speeds so much slower for this drive - Thank you -

What is the WD black model number?

Edit: Make sure both drives are being tested in the same slot. Although from your results it doesn't seem like your second drive is running over Sata.

I have the WD Black SN750 NVMe drive and got this result for my speed test.

Note it's not really a fair comparison comparing a 512GB drive with a 1TB drive. That link also shows the 1TB is faster than the 512GB.

Hi,

The WD Black model was from a few years ago and isn't a current model but it is PCI-e - The Samsung 970 Evo Plus is newer and lots faster - 🙂
