Oh you guys can't be serious.
Serious Sam 3 is out and there isn't even a thread? Seriously? Are you girlies scared of a game for serious men?

Nah, let's cut it with the jokes and let's get serious.
I'm in chapter 4 (or 5? don't remember) and I'm loving it. It's extremely different from the old titles, but it's still Serious Sam in its own way. I honestly love the change, and this comes from a 1st&2nd Encounter fanboy. The monsters, the gore, the speed (this one gets way more frantic than the others, even though there aren't as much enemies)... Basically everything. It has a few cons but honestly this is my GOTY. Definitely worth all the pre-order money.
Also, can't wait to finish the campaign to get onto some 16-player co-op. This stuff will drive me Mental (ahah, got it? Mental? No...?)

Oh, and for you pc elitists: this is a PC exclusive, and it takes some pretty serious hardware to run it

Also, graphics look much better than the trailer.

Yeah, its pretty sad that after all the *****ing about games like DNF when a game that comes out that is everything that DNF should have been that no one talks about it.

This game really does rock. I'm really impressed so far. Even the little tweaks having to reload the pump action shotgun adds a lot to the game. I'm also really loving the sledgehammer. There is nothing more satisfying than smacking a Kleer Skeleton over the head mid-jump with the sledgehammer. I'm loving this so far.

One of the other great things about this game is all of the graphics options. With everything set to ultra (which still isn't technically maxed out) the game ran a bit slowly for me. I just turned down a few things that weren't even that noticeable and I'm seeing some high framerates most of the time.

Its been great worth the money i spent already....you really have to try mp sooooo much fun

funny how some stooge at xs was calling it a fail in august the dicwad said "mark my words its going to be a fail like dn2"
mark "this" i say.
fps action games today suck for the most part...this is goty for me

there are some cons but this game is a great sequal unlike others this year..

more vga/cpu/ram settings you can shake a stick at...as us old timers would say.

Funny, I don't get any stuttering in game. I do get however relatively low framerates, I'm always over the 30-40 but I rarely hit the 60s and it feels like I'm playing it on a console...
I'll probably tweak the stuff a bit tomorrow see if I can get some 60s everywhere. This game takes some nice hardware to work good.

Also Patlefort, how did you edit the fov? Does it affect performance? Is this probably why you get the stuttering?

By the way, anyone laughed like crazy on the Prince joke?

I was getting stuttering even before editing the FoV. Reducing the level of details in the performance options helped but still isn't very fluid.

I edited the file "SeriousSam3.ini" which should be somewhere in the userdata folder in your steam folder. I added "plr_fFOV = 100;". I also added "inp_bMouseAcceleration = 0;" to remove mouse acceleration.

I just disabled FXAA and shadow anti-aliasing. I also turned down some of the ambient occlusion options and my framerate skyrocketed. The game looks just as good to be honest. I really love the options menu.

With mouse acceleration disabled does the mouse still feel "off" ?

I don't mind editing as long as it's still not plagued by feeling "off", otherwise I'll avoid the game.

The mouse feel is the best I've had in a PC game in a LONG time. The default mouse accel is very minor, and I even considered keeping it on due to the fact that the game changes wildly between pixel hunting distant enemies and close up firefights.

With mouse accel off it feels like 1:1 mouse movement, and there is also no input lag. Once you adjust the settings so that you get 60fps (turn down crumb density, ambient occlusion off, turn down shadow density), the engine gives you a very crisp and responsive feel.

The only annoying thing is that I have to reset the FOV and mouse accel every time I launch the game, but I'm sure there's an ini file that I can set if I took a minute to look for it.

Can you do a screenshot? I think you're missing something

S**T! SPACE MONKEYS!

This game really loves a strong graphics card. I just did a quick benchmark with fraps. The first result is with my GTX570 at stock speeds and the second is with my GTX570 at 880mhz.

Ok, I'm halfway the game.
After you get the minigun, it gets a LOT more serious.

If I remember correctly, both LAN and online are 16 players max for co-op, deathmatch, ctf, last man standing, etc. There's even 4-way splitscreen support.

I hate you, now the gamer in me feels the need to support it.

ps. I hate you

You won't hate me once you play it

I'm at 2/3rds and honestly, this is THE fps. It exceeded my expectations by far, and believe me it takes some SERIOUS game to impress me this much.
I still can't believe how AMAZING this game is.

Croteam and CDprojectRED are among the best PC devs out there in this moment, anyone who calls himself a hardcore gamer, a pc elitist/fanboy and/or a fps lover SHOULD NOT MISS this game.

Picked this up along with BF3, I'll save Zelda: Skyward Sword for Christmas.

In-case anyone cares about features such as this the game has a profile/supports the Logitech keyboards with LCD's, though I'll be monitoring MSI-Afterburner.
