Did anyone that has an Asus z690 Maximus upgrade to 13900K with DDR5 DRAM 6800 or above? I think all that limits the Asus z690 Maximus with higher DDR5 speeds like the z790 Maximus is supposed to support is the 12900k IMC vs having the 13900k IMC in an z690 Maximus. If you remember the memory QVL list on the Asus z690 Maximus at launch (with the 12900k) was only like DDR 5 6000 but I know for a fact not over DDR5 6200, then months later when higher DDR5 speed ram was available the Asus support page updated to DDR5 6400 and DDR5 6600. I really believe with the 13900k IMC there is no need to buy a z790 Maximus but hoping somebody can test it with DDR5 6800 or above not overclocked just with the new DDR5 higher speed ram shipped to you that is coming out or is already out.

Well my sample size is one so take the info as you will. On a 2022 z690 maximus extreme running 4x16 sticks of 6200 M Die the Imc on raptorlake is no different than raptorlake. Now I'm debating to see if the z790 will change things and if it's. A board issue still.

But I've also tested Am5 and I can tell you that Amd's Imc is far superior to Intel's when it comes to running all slots populated.

As far as others you can see in some of the threads it seems like the Imc isn't any better. But then again running 2x sticks vs 4 makes a difference. In the end until you test it yourself you won't know 100%.

I am curious if such DDR 7600Mhz+ will go on z690 boards, I have Z690Hero myself and I am curious if such G.Skill DDR 8000Mhz will go on z690hero or do I have to change to z790? is it worth changing at all? acutally i have G.Skill 6400Mhz cl32 on Z690Hero + 13900k and they work without a problem.

Hello all, well I not surprised you can run DDR5 7600 on the z690 Hero with the 13900k installed. I wish I knew this before that DD5 7600 would work on the z690 as I'm selling my current Rig which includes my z690 Hero because I bought a z790 Hero. I also have DDR5 6600 in my z690 and was able to get my hands on DD5 8000.

Hi guys, I'm right now with a z690 msi with ddr4 (currently run at 4000 G1 c36). I've found an asus z690 strix to replace mine with ddr5.
What kit should I buy?
ddr5 7200 c34 or 7600 c36? The price is the same, but I'm wondering if the mobo will let me running at those frequencies, the cpu mc can do it, otherwise it won't at 4000 either, but maybe there are other factors I'm not considering. Any input is more than welcome. Thanks in advance!
