1T is easy on MSI boards with SR memory. Only required a bit more voltage. Didn't have to lower any timings or frequency.
Yeah, but his on DR HP V10 B die 2x16gb with Asus z690 D4.

Me too. I'm with b-die 2x16gb 4000mhz 16-16-16-34@1.4v stock ram with a Z790 strict d4.

I'm waiting for the cooler monday to see what can I get with the 13900ks (P-SP 118, E-SP 90).

I ordered MSI Edge z790 ddr4 to amazon just in case the strix is bad for the memories.

For gaming with 13th gen the ram speed-latency is more important than the CPU overclock right? The chips will get 5.5ghz all core for sure with those SP. The cooler is the Arctic Freezer ii 420.

You can get 58/45/50 on the LF II 420mm and latency as close to 45ns as you can.

Even 59x on light/gaming loads worked on the LF2 (never went up to 85° so the tvb offset was never applied while gaming)

Yes I'm saying for daily stable R23 but you can run 59 on light loads.

yeah found the OCN threads + recent reddit threads off it , its a massive mess and looks like 0 PR. All the direct die blocks are overseas but in stock but won't get them for a month since I"m in the US , average is 24-30 days cuz of customs etc ( which my AMD blocks been in the mail since end of march and still stuck in customs so makes sense) Looking for a reg block for now and will just swap out to delid a month from now if needed.
I'm running a delid with the bottom edges of the ihs sanded down so it floats on the die. 10c drop on package temps, about 6-11c per core drop using the same OC profile. Performs nearly as well as the EK DD block. Have a supercool block ordered which I'll use with the rpl refresh later this year. I'm done with this build until then.

Ooo smart , I forgot that itd be the same chip, Ill order the supercool now then, grabbed the heat killer cuz I didnt wanna wait a month + again. Praying my K isnt abysmal, not sure how others are sending theirs back.

Reading through the thread in the meantime since looks like SO much has changed in the overclocking game and way more to tweak. Installing WIndows 11 on a new drive, any recommended settings to start with for OC, was looking at scatterbench's stuff since they use ASUS for ref.

Also do you guys still push CPU first THEN RAM or does it matter?

Yeah that's what I found, RAM OC & Tune has bigger benefit, CPU OC very minimal, but I only pushed to 5.6 in gaming spec.

Has anyone else experienced a peculiarity where you can't run Cinebench even though you can pass y-cruncher just fine? I'm thinking I'm encountering some sort of bug somewhere. What other CPU stress tests do you people use?

I'm gonna run ASUS RealBench to see what happens with that.

That's a weird one but I don't use y cruncher. OCCT LARGE, R23, Real Bench are my go to plus launching BF 2042.

Yeah, y-cruncher is tougher than R23, but I'm confused as to why I can't even start to run it. This never happened before. I'll give RealBench a try.

That aside, I've finalized my overclock:
60/47/51x with 1.44V (BIOS) or 1.39V (VR VOUT) and LLC Mode 5
4,300 CL 14 1T Gear 1 with 1.20V VCCSA, 1.43V VDDQ, 1.30V L2 Cache, ~1.73V VDIMM (and 0.80V VTT, 1.02V CPU PLL)

The only possible suspicion I can think of is that R23 might be throwing too much current at my chip set to 60/47/51x, causing it to just trip and give up.

You should be able to do those CPU clocks on R23 at 1.33v or lower. Y cruncher seems very demanding?

With my memory overclock, I have to run the Vcore much higher than without. At XMP, I can do 60/48/51x at only 1.40V BIOS or 1.35V VR VOUT.

Hello,

I'm new here but I wanted some help to get better voltage (try to not put so high) with my i9-13900KS from more experienced overclockers. I've follow few skatterbencher about how to understand and overclock the i9-13900KS. My i9-13900KS is P108 SP-118 - E-89.
In the Bios it said, the P0 frenquency is 6000Mhz and Core 0 VID is 1.463v from the AI. I did an overclocking with the RAM 7200Mhz 1.4v to 7600Mhz at 1.49v. And when I put all my pcores to 5.9Ghz, I have to push the additionnal turbo voltage to 1.465v to get everything to run stable. Is there any optimisation that I can do to lower the voltage and try to go to 6.0Ghz on all-cores with a similar voltage or a little bit higher ?

Thank you for helping me :)

That's actually pretty accurate for the chip you've got. 60x isn't easy.

Oki thank you, I was thinking it was a bit too much for 1.465v@5.9Ghz all pcores. And if I go stock with my RAM in XMP (1.4v), can it help to lower a little bit the voltage for the pcores or it will not help at all ?
Yes, the difference between XMP and heavily overclocked RAM is easily a few dozen mV.

Yes for sure it happened even when I was running 59.(y-cruncher ok)
From time to time shooting r23 just kept failing.

I also noticed heat and wattage drawing not consistent at all these last two weeks despite running the exact same settings. (Like 317w at 68° and few days later, 374w at 63°).
