I want to make a cable for my Logitech g403 mouse, so I have a question: where is weld the cable called "shield" on the USB connector? I'm so confused.
You don't need to. Use 4 wires without shield.

What timing. Needed this thread, and managed to change my Revel cord to the DA.

Seems backwards but I absolutely don't like floppy cables. DA has a nice braid, just stuff enough to get out of the way and doesn't impede movement.

Hello everybody. I just saw this:

''Logitech
green white red black shield
G203, G102, G Pro, G100s, G300s, G302, G303, G402, G403, G502, G400, MX518, MX500, MX310, MX300, G1, G3''

And i wonder what about cables from m90 or m100 mices? Looks same.
But will they work with gpro or g403 for example?

Ty for the fast response is the jst 2.0 connector just the white plastic part or the cable itself the silver pins connectors because i do have the original broken cable and all the parts i could just use the original plastic connector with the new cable if the plastic part is the only problem also the original rival 310 has usb 3.0 connector i have no idea if that cable is 3.0 is that also a problem? Ty for the help anyway ill try to read again the op

I don't think there are any USB 3.0 mice, plus the amount of cables and shielding for 3.0 is not small so it's quite impractical for wired mice.
The connectors are both plastic parts and pins. If you have something broken you can swap the parts around if it's the same connector, otherwise it won't fit at least not correctly.
If you can't get the connector necessary you can always solder cable to mouse itself if original connector is broken (say you broke the plastic and it won't hold pins well enough).

Hello i am trying to solve a usb connection issue(sometimes connection is lost then regained etc etc) that i figure may be due to the mouse jst being a bit deteriorated , i started searching for the connector itself over the internet but haven't seen even 1 that came with the color scheme mentioned in most mice here. This was one i found: https://www.digikey.com/product-det.../product-detail/en/trinamic-motion-control-gmbh/CABLE-PH05/1460-1296-ND/9381901 , but how can i be sure wich cable is going to correspond to what ( like data , shield etc) in order to not kill my mouse once and for all.

From what i understood reading through internet according to wich wire i connect from the USB A part the color is going to have a function, (for example if i link this JST blue cabe with like pin 1 red +5V and then i will have to fit the scheme accordingly to my mouse) but still concerns me if the color difference affects how the wires conduct or if its just a different covering color that doesn't matter and what matters only is the actual connection i make on the USB A side.

The internal plug contains 5 cables with crimps. This cables connects your mice with the USB port.
It contains:
black - ground
green - data+
white - data -
red - 5volt
thick black - shield
If you have the solder contacts down low, it's black - ground, green - data+, white - data -, red - 5volt, thick black - shield (from left to right)
If you use different colors, you have translate it.

But I would recommend just to buy a replacement cable if you only want to repair your mouse.

What mouse model? Do you have an older mouse mouse for parts? Maybe you coul use the cable from here.

It is an older sensei mouse ( not the RAW , the silver version)

, the main problem is that i don't have any worthless mouse laying around in order to salvage and use the cable, and what troubles me is how should i figure out the color difference (since i haven't been able to find any cables that match the actual mice colors) or if for instance what makes each color function a way is only regarding were i actually make the connection on the USB-A ending.

thank you for your responses , so i did saw the first post on the thread showing how the cables are inside , however in my goal to re-do a new cable i couldn't find any JST 2.0 PH 5-Pin that had a similar color scheme as the mice posted (the JST 2.0 PH 5-Pin i managed to find where something like orange yellow dark green black and red) , what i couldn't figure is how do i know wich is wich ( for example:1. is the dark green the shield one OR 2. what does make the dark green one be the shield is in wich of 5 pins of the USB-Type A side it is connected). Also sorry if i am not being clear enough unfortunately i am not very experienced with mice/eletric engineering however i really love my old sensei shape and wanted to save him.
