but i just want you try karhu/memtest pro (dang wang). only to know how much avg cover speed with your setting
Hi, what's help avg cover speed for only mine's only single player gaming scenario, you have HWinfo Effective clocks to check this in no time 🤕
Don't need to pay Karhu pro, just for you to check something I don't need, if you have next gen 9000series, why don't you check by yourself 🙃
Karhu uses a different aproach testing stability
Karhu also like Aida64 Cache test together, does focus on the cache side of things.
Karhu with cache will fail if the IMC fails to hold this voltage, or will fail if one of the cores fails.
TM5's work is only to verify the memory timings, nothing around it, but it will also fail if the CPU can't keep up stability.
TM5 isn't able to detect memory controller issues, for such work you can use all these 3 tests combo on y-cruncher FFT/N64/VT3 and hope it's just a voltage issue which an AVX2 test will detect soon 👍
I know it sounds contraproductive, but althrough trusting you Y-Cruncher testing suite passed several times, and at least for now, I can't find anyone on Next Gen combo 9000series X870 mobo 8000 mems kit passed through, Dataset AVX2 is heavy, so do N64 and finds instant memory errors, not for everyone enthusiast, good luck!

I'm having memory OC problems with this bios. Memory runs fine at 6400MTs 1:1 with FCLK at 2000.

Turn computer off for the night and when I boot windows a get a BSOD saying 'memory error' - the only way to get it working is to go back to defaults (4800MTs). I can then later go back and reload my 6400MTs profile and it works, error free.

This is making me think its a memory training problem. Motherboard, CPU and memory are all new. I need to test the above and or go back to the old bios to see if it does the same.

Edit: I seem to be right - this morning it failed again so I made it re-train the memory and it works fine! Will test the last bios as soon as I have time but never had that problem with it before.
Right - having received a new board I can report that my old board def had a fault from the start - with memory having to be re-trained if machine was off more than a couple of hours. This does not happen with the replacement.

Also useful is that Tech support tell me that bios Debug Code 00 is "... the startup process doesn't begin" - so that board is getting RMAd shortly.

My Apex beast has a new younger brother to fight with. I just built an AMD system and in the process of figuring out how to tune Ryzen 9 for maximum overclocked benching performance. Very different than what I am used to. Once I get my bearings I will be ordering the Thermal Grizzly Mycro and Delid Die Mate from Brother @der8auer for added thermal headroom on my water chiller. RAM cooling parts are on the way, along with an EXPO 8000 kit. At the moment I am using an XMP 8000 kit, manually tuned. I am liking it so far. Hoping to learn a few things specific to AMD from @domdtxdissar because he is our resident AMD HWBOT pro.

Hi enthusiasts, nice glowy Masterpiece, no need that much Carbon here in Eastern Europe Dark Side for my younger little fellow, salute our Master Jedi @der8auer indeed, keep going MSI rocks 🔝

Has anyone gotten any decent results with Tomahawk yet with 2x32 Gb set? I'm having Kingston Fury Beast 6400C32 -set. Currently running them at 6000C30. I would like to set up mild overclock that doesn't require endless fiddling in BIOS.

I just build this PC with 9800X3D and Tomahawk. I actually have had a lot of issues with it. Bios flashing was nightmare - but finally could do it. PC literally crashed in BIOS which is something new to me. Also my setup only boots up properly every other boot. The failed boots end up with completely black screen. PC seems to be alive since CPU temps are shown in status codes but there is no way to get anything on the display. Internal GPU is disabled from BIOS.

I'm wondering whether I have hardware-issue with the Tomahawk.... I have tested the setup with each RAM stick separately without help.

Seems like the Godlike is available on MSI's website now. And newegg has it for backorder now as well, availability on the 18th.

I have a similar kit, 6400 CL32 2x24GB G.Skill, Hynix M-Die. I'm running Buildzoid's timings at 6000 for right now, but I want to try to push it to 6200 or 6400 since that's what the kit is rated at anyways. So far I haven't been successful. I need to nail down the Termination Block settings (ProcODT, RTT, etc.) like you have in your Zentimings screenshot, but the settings in the BIOS are confusing. Which ones did you modify in the BIOS to achieve the settings you have in your screenshot? There are two settings for each termination block value, "Pull Up" and "Pull Down". Do I set them both to the same value?

I am finding that my 24GB sticks that work amazingly well on my Intel i9 CPUs do not work so well with my 9950X. The 16GB sticks are very stable in comparison and run 8200 easily and pass stability tests. Intel had to massage the firmware a little to get the 24GB modules to run great and I suspect AMD is going to need to do the same. It is really unfortunate that both Intel and AMD seem to be largely hung up on the idea of selling mostly 4-DIMM motherboards when 2-DIMM DDR5 boards are better performing by nearly every measurement.

Hi enthusiasts, nothing but troubles & no improvment so far from 1.2.0.2 A or B, don't do same mine mistake, get rid of them asasp 👎
Both imature Agesa Beta ruined my 8000CL34 when found new cpu SMU 98.78.0 inserted 🤕
Needed to roll back 1.2.0.2 SMU 98.77.0 to found only 8000CL36 can run back stable, so be aware with "B"😱

The best rules apply to all electronics and the process is the same easy to manage approach for AMD and Intel owners. If you are happy that your product works well and there are no unresolved performance issues or bugs, then STOP. Do nothing. Stay happy. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Is there a BIOS adjustment for this? Mine are mismatched at 37 and 39.
Yeap, just head over to PMU training.
ARdPtrInitVal P0 Control=Manual goes down to 0
Be sure to check it in both Bios section PMU: Advanced Dram config & Amd Overclocking/DDR

Awesome, thank you. Very helpful. I've been overclocking Intel platforms for years, but so much of the AMD BIOS stuff is foreign to me. Like speaking a broken language, you understand some parts, but other words you have never heard before.

Thx, glad to help, honestly I do figure it out already, I'am not an AMD beginner, I can tell, appreciated 🙏

Yea but that took almost 20 bioses on am4 ;)

My bios is setting the WRONG timings from A-XMP on this bios: should be 32 40 40 40 84 - I assume its this bios as it didn't do this before. Will go back to A13 and re-test as its unstable like this!

Edit: I was right -back on A13 and my memory timings are correct

Incompetent firmware engineers can single-handedly ruin everything.

I changed both to 0 and one is 36, the other 38 in Zen Timings. Do I need to do something different? Maybe I misunderstood and you were not stating I should set it to 0 in both locations.

It looks like we have the same memory kit part number. My 8000 Neo EXPO kit arrived today.

I do have VDD=VDDQ=1.57v equal & VDDIO=Auto y can check this, might be your issue, or CL timmings and mem freq ? Pls post ZenT might help
