5700XT vs 2060 Super

About time. I'm in.

Thank you @lightsout for starting this. I'm in!!!

My Gigabyte 5700 XT is a dud kinda. Can only do 2070 MHz at 1200 mV, completely stable. Memory is not bad tho, 935-950 MHz depending on the game.

#36 ·
On 1200mV card is probably itself hot even if you use fan on more than 75% fans speed. I did different approach, bumped fans a bit, undervolted it to 1080mV(the main reason for that were high hotspot remps, now they in range of 82-92*C) and on 2064 MHz I'm getting ~ 2000MHz in games, memory is set on 940MHz and does on this core speed up to 946MHz.

In da club with an MSI RX 5700 XT (reference)! Thanks lightsout!

This card will be part of my new build and I started a Build Log: "Fast n' Cheap" that you can find here: https://www.overclock.net/forum/18082-builds-logs-case-mods/1737250-build-log-fast-n-cheap.html

Hopefully those with the expertise can repost here and or cut/paste their info here from the [Various] Radeon RX 5700 XT and 5700 reviews thread - https://www.overclock.net/forum/225...net/forum/225-hardware-news/1728764-various-radeon-rx-5700-xt-5700-reviews.html

Again thanks!

I have been pondering about starting a owners club for at least 2 months and was wondering why there was never one started.

I have a reference Sapphire Rx 5700 XT.

Having an issues with images, does the OP look like this for anyone else?

No OP pics yet. You will have to upload to OCN and leave the pic there and if you use "insert image" with the link to the OCN upload you will then get the pic and a smaller thumbnail pic. If you don't use "insert image" then you will end up with the thumbnail image like in post #8.

Weird because when I look at other threads, they use normal BB code, must be an issue with the site, I made a thread in the Help section to see whats up.

#12 ·
um... are you doing everything from advanced, in full wysiwygs mode? (if you don't have the classic advanced, then its disabled in your profile)

#15 · (Edited)
I am, but it shouldn't even matter if its just using BBcode.

EDIT## Ok I think I got it working, needed to link directly to the jpg and not the imgur page, for some reason with another site that didn't work but when I go that sorted with imgur I think it is now showing up.

So when can these things fold?

I have been pretty happy with my 5700 and 2600x for 144hz 1440p. Right now all I play is COD MW. I am fine to adjust some settings,
most the time I don't even notice a difference. I usually stay in the 90-120 fps range, and with freesync on it is super smooth.

They should have kept the other thread the main thread....There were 150+ pages there already...

I own a 5700XT Gaming Tuf.
You can see in that thread, that was discussed, but here we are, I will link to that thread for reference.

It's a news thread though. This card needed it's own owner club for a while.

Upgraded from gtx 1060 to rx 5700 pulse, really satisfied with its performance.

Insert image doesn't seem to work for two hosting sites that I tried. Anyway, the card is on a fractal design node 304 and its working at 1999mhz, 1101mV, 0% powerlimit, PWM(<67c 25%><79c 40%>, <87c 55%>)

My best score with slight OC with 25% power limit / 2030mhz 1140mv superposition 1080p extreme benchmark was 4975 with180-220watt & junction temp 87c.

I linked the thread in the second post. Feel free to post relevant links.

Discord is for kiddies :D fight me!

I was just joking around, but I am ignorant on such matters, does that just handle the audio chat side of things, then we link up in a game?

For all these years I have only ever gamed on my own. Never really had the time to dedicate to a group, but it could be fun for sure.

What do you guys use to stress your clocks? Just your normal games? I have found the new COD to be super sensitive to overclocks.

Still really like my Red Devil 5700XT. After finals are over with, I want to finally see about flashing the Anniversary Edition BIOS and see if we can close the gap some more on my VII. Shouldn't be too hard, the VII's air cooler is pretty meh, but the 5700XT's Red Devil cooler is beast-mode.

Just MPT it. +90 Power / 1300mv

Crank your fans and let'see see how far you can push it. I'll rebench everything in the coming days.

I'm in...reference Sapphire 5700 XT with a full EK block. There are a couple of pics in my sig. I'm still tinkering with this build. I've switched back and forth between vertical and regular mount, and I'm playing with the OC. I ran it for a while at 2150Mhz and 1200mV, but I only had it at 915 memory. Now I'm running it at 2130Mhz and 1175mV, and memory at 925. My benchmarks were better with 2150 and lower memory speeds, but temps were quite a bit higher. At 2150, actual game speed was just shy of 2100 steady (usually around 2095 to 2099). At 2130Mhz, games are holding at around 2080Mhz, and I lose about 60 points in timespy, but temps are much better. I am still trying to find a sweet spot with best performance and sub 90c hotspot temps. My particular card is a good clocker, but terrible on temps. Before I got the water block, running furmark would hit 110 hotspot at stock clocks and 50% fan, in an open bench.

Can finish Unigine Superposition benchmark at 2090/950 MHz. Strange thing is that power didn't go above 235W, even tho I set limit to 50%, which is 300W

Just bought an ASUS TUF 5700 XT and so far it is a massive disappointment. It is unstable and it frequently causes random reboots while gaming, I haven't even overclocked it nor is my 3900x overclocked either. It either produces a blank or solid green screen without any text whatsoever and it locks up my system and restarts which is annoying. Reading the reviews for this card has been reviewed negatively by reviewers and users, wish I actually researched this card before I purchased it. It was on sale which was the main reason I bought this card.

Anybody who owns a 5700 XT has issues with theirs or did I receive a faulty card? Apparently some users are reporting the same issue with the ASUS TUF 5700 XT.

I can't speak personally but i have seen a ton of issues with that card from different people. The Newegg reviews are not good either. Evidently there is really no vRam cooling at all or very little? When these cards run hot they have problems it seems.

Dmac

Well according to MSI Afterburner my card runs around at 75C, though one time it possibly overheated and shut down my PC, though I wasn't paying too much attention what were the temps were.

What about the junction temp? That's everything. As well as the vRam temps.
