Best Graphics Card Repair Business in the United States? Preferably in Missouri but anywhere is okay as long as prices aren't too high & quality of work is high.

I need to have my Powercolor Red Dragon AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 looked at. It gets hot, fans spin but no post no detection.

Thanks

PS - Do any of you guys know how to repair GPU's?

NorthridgeFix and northwestrepair are well regarded when it comes to GPU repairs, but they're both on the west coast. Quite a few electronics repair shops could handle some degree of GPU repairs, so it might be worth looking up local shops. However, any professional repair that involves anything beyond the basic is going to be expensive, mostly because of labor and insurance. A Vega 56 almost certainly isn't worth getting professionally repaired as the repair could easily cost more than the card is worth.

There is a huge spectrum of repair that could be needed. Your particular problem could be as simple as a corrupt firmware that just needs flashing, or it could be as profound as a dead GPU package that would need replacement. Quite a few people here would be able to handle less involved fixes; a fair number of us could diagnose and bypass or repair a busted power stage, but very few have the skills or tools to do a GPU package swap/reballing. Even if you found a hobbyist with the ability and inclination, they'd almost certainly charge a fair bit and be unable to offer you much in the way of a warranty.

NorthridgeFix does not have the capability or know how to actually repair GPUs.

NorthridgeFix does not even do basic things like running MATS or checking if the GPU is actually boosting properly. He also charges for "repair attempt" and you pay regardless if he does not fix it.

NorthWest Repair actually does GPU repair and has the tools and know how to be able to do it.

The funny thing is NorthWest Repair received a GPU that was "repaired" by NorthRidgeFix.

Thanks because the flash bios is fine, it worked fine before I took it apart & cleaned it under water & didn't let it dry completely before powering it on, idiotically I did yes. So I'll look into these shops you speak of. Thank you so much. Yeah the card is $129 for a good used one so it may not be worth it.

How long has it been allowed to dry? I've prematurely powered up plenty of GPUs after washing them and never killed one...most of these kinds of shorts are to ground and will completely resolve once the card is fully dried.

Corrupting the firmware is also something that a short can potentially do. So if it still doesn't work after sitting in a bag with some desiccant for a few days, it might be worth seeing if it's detected enough to be reflashed.

Good to know.

Original repair attempt was undoubtedly shoddy and shouldn't be excused, but any place doing a lot of volume is going to let a few mistakes through.

Northridgefix!

That being said, you can just buy another vega for like, 80$ nowadays, or better yet a 5700xt, its not worth sending to him to fix at all

Repairing GPUS- I can go about as far as soldering some large ICs or caps but im not great at reshaping tiny wires - thats what happens when you're 6'4 and hand size incompatible with normal equipment, I recently had to open a laptop and the most infuriating connector to ever exist, the laptop display LVDS cable I had to replace because I made the mistake of looking at it wrong and a pin fell off, yeah..wasnt able to fix that lol
