This game is a masterpiece in terms of visual quality and cinematic story telling. It raises the bar for the entire medium. First UE5 game to really shine.

Anyone here tried it yet? What do you think?

Looks good. I still gotta play the original first tho, which is gonna require some bravery. I bought it a couple years ago but didn't get very far at all- with headphones on, the whispering in the main menu in scarily accurate to how auditory hallucinations can sound. I've experienced psychosis and hallucinations first-hand and I noped out after that but I'm still curious to try the game. I guess now there's a sequel out I have incentive to try again, maybe using some ****ty earbuds and not my fully-immersive open-back cans lol.

Title seems a bit like advertising... :ROFLMAO:

The original I nope'd out of as well.

At least in Alien Isolation I got past the first encounter with the Alien before I decided I preferred my relaxation to actually relax me.

Is it scary?
I wouldn't call it scary, there are no jump scares or anything like you would expect for a horror game or movie. I'd say it's very intense, and that intensity comes from the immersion. The way the graphics and audio come together is nothing short of a masterpiece. The game is a work of art.

I don't think you have to play the first one. The plot is self contained enough that you won't miss anything.

I didn't play with headphones. I have a powerful 5.1 home theater setup and it was fantastic.

It's short, I already finished it. Definitely a quality over quantity experience but the quality level is off the charts. No other game gets close.

Been a graphics snob for years but these days I just want good games. I recently played a bunch of Palworld and had a lot of fun.

Hellbalde 2 is not going to be a game for everyone, but I not only enjoyed it a lot for the graphics and audio quality, but I thought the plot was good and the combat was fantastic. That said, it's a simple game. I would describe it as a very condensed version of something like Death Stranding. A game that aims to have a top notch cinematic experience and use gameplay to back that experience up. The combat would definitely be less fun if not for how good the graphics and audio make it all come together in the moment, but as it is, those things do all come together very well and adds up to very engaging gameplay.

remove chromatic aberration:

Add these lines to your engine.ini file

r.NT.Lens.Distortion.Intensity=0
r.NT.Lens.Distortion.Stretch=0
r.NT.Lens.ChromaticAberration.Intensity=0
r.NT.DOF.RotationalBokeh=0
r.NT.DOF.NTBokehTransform=0

Having played with different graphics settings, IMO the best way to play this game is to target 30FPS and as minimal upscaling as you can get away with. For such a cinematic game, 30 FPS is very comfortable.
