So can you run 3 GPUs in CF if you have the integrated GPU, the dedicated GPU, and the external GPU??? Or CF the dedicated and external GPU?

This is great. I knew this was on the cards but I am glad ATI have acted upon it quickly. I think this will please alot of laptop users that want to add that extra umph to their lappy.

Actually it was my idea. I thought of it like 3-4 years ago when I had a laptop. Everyone just laughed at me and was like..yeah, keep dreaming. Just buy a better computer.

And I'm sure someone thought of it before you. People told you to keep dreaming because it wasn't out, not because it wasn't possible. With technology like this, you need more than an idea to get a patent.

The problem with getting a 8800GTX in a laptop is that it's no longer portable, or efficient. Having a HD3200 inside which will grant you HD-playback and modest game performance while on the road, but a HD38/4870 inside a box you bolt on while at home for the best experience. If you can Hybrid Crossfire your integrated and dedicated it will be even sweeter.

I like this idea. With more and more people buying laptops, it will give them a reason to own one PC instead of a desktop and lappy. I suppopse it all depends on price.

Asus has something like this but not as good. It uses a usb, which has lower bandwidth.

Asus had something called the xtremestation (I think). It used the express card slot which only provides 250Mb of bandwidth so it wasn't worth the cost.

To be fair the 3870 i believe is faster then the 8800GTS to begin with.
