Thank you for the reply.
I am sorry but the info you provided doesn't answer my question.

Just want to know where is the connection on the motherboard for the right speaker.

I have already studied this guide and it states for did connection of the factory left speaker.....nothing about the right speaker.

Your pimp guide was the only one I could find where it was stated that there is connection for the right speaker but doesn't point out where it is.

If you are serious about wanting internal stario you could do a mod to the 3.5 mm header the only problum with this is you will not have 2 different sound profiles between headphone and internal speeker when I'm on my computer I am sure I could wip up a diagram or find a link to one

But since this is a modlog it would be best to create your own thread as it would net more replies now although mehlstaubthecat doesn't seem to mind and is problety the most knolagable about this notebook

Hey, my dear friend! I am really lucky to be reading this article! thanx to you, I upgraded Ram and ssd on my Acer!
Now, I saw the brilliant monitor upgrade with the extreme resolution! Could you please, please, please
explain to me how you did that, where did you buy the new monitor from etc?
Thaxnx so so much!

Hey MehlstaubtheCat. I have the exact same laptop as yours and i'm very interested. And one day i'm going to to some of these mod's but i cannot get my head around the down sampling of the resolution. And how do you suppose to get 80 hz when its only a 60 hz monitor. i had a look on other forums on how to do it but i can't see the options to do it on my laptop. Plus, just reading through the forum and you said there was only one speaker connector on the motherboard, sorry to say this but there is a connector for the right speaker, its near the mic connector. For some reason the didn't put the speaker in.

Hi Mr chalk board !

You have to know there are a few versions of this laptop.
One version with Nvidia graphics card another with AMD graphics and a other with Nvidia graphics Optimus.
You can´t get downsampling with Optimus and also with AMD graphics.

On my laptop version there is no second speaker on the mic connector, so i think there must be a other version too, maybe

Thanks for replying MehlstaybtheCat
I have the one with Optimus and the speaker connector near the mic connector.

Hang on just had a look at the picture of the motherboard you supplied us with, and it has the right speaker connector

this is my motherboard

sorry to make a big deal out of it.

I changed top cover from Aspire 5741G-it has stereo speaker places, and it is identical for 5742G. I added 2 speakers, motherboard has left right channel support. Now, I have good stereo sound and perfect top cover with metal design elements. It costs: US 28.13 - top cover, US 9.00 left, right speakers.
Warning! Don't upgrade generic audio driver to realtek - it has information from your notebook model and it has mono speaker, so driver info convert your sound to one speaker double volume hardware sound.

My PC hardware modification: exchanged HDD with SSD Crucial M4 128 GB; Exchanged memory Nanuy NT4GC64B-4GB with Kingston KAC-MEMJ-4GBx2. This modification [upgrade] working without any problems more than one year.

Sorry for this question, but do you know if is possible upgrade or add any usb 3.0

Thanks!
I'll let the thread owner answer this question, but I wouldn't think it would work without desoldering the old USB 2.0 ports and soldering USB 3.0 back on in place of the old ones. Also, you might need to make a custom USB 3.0 driver which will probably be difficult on Windows. Linux would be a better option for that. At least that's what I would expect.

I have read your article and upgrades, and for sure you have put into my head some ideas, once i buy this laptop (used) for only 150€.

But i was going to ask you , isn't an upgrade to i7 a better upgrade ?

Thank you.

I don't think so. There is many i5 cpu's u can upgrade with motherboard supported it by, but I 'm not sure about cooling resolution on this case. My i3 on games start freezing on heavy games after 10 minutes gameplay, because cpu's start overheating.

Sorry, for the late delay!

Hi tamperer, dave0 and PetranEVO!

tamperer:
I think it's impossible to upgrade, because the HM55 chipset do not have the contability for USB 3.0.

dave0:
You say : "no need to drill holes in case"
The goal for me was to make this notebook silent as possible
and now in idle load and surfing through the internet there is no running fan, because of the passive cooling.
3 min idle then maybe 20sec the fan will turn on, the for the next 3 min there is no fan noise nothing again.

PetranEVO:
I have try with a i7 740QM first, but it won´t start.
Only on guy i know has successfully install an i7 an it works well.
The official end with this notebook is an i5 and a i7 seems a kind of lottery, you can win then it works, you can lose like i do
