for their photoshoot, they put a cheesy photoshop-lens-flare-of-death in the background XD

sorry, couldn't help myself. The artist in me sees faults.

But it does look cool

posted here repeatedly. Not that it matters but a case should not be one of the most expensive parts of your system. Especially when there are so many $200 range cases that give equal or better airflow to choose from.

Antec 1200 (when available)
Coolermaster cosmos S
coolermaster stacker 830 series
thermaltake armor
antec 900 (smaller mind you)

etc., the list goes on...

Why not?

The case, along with the PSU, is one of the few items that actually last. The CPU, GPU, motherboard, these are all useless once the next generation reaches mainstream prices. The case will last through all of them.

With a Lian Li it may even last past the ATX generation, even if the next mobos are substantially different you can just get a new mobo tray for it.

Personally I didn't skimp on the case precisely because it'll last longer than just about any other component.

My point is that the difference in quality between a $200 and $400 case is what? Custom paint?

Any case under a $100 is suspect in its quality. Sure there are exceptions like the antec 900 and coolmaster cm690 but once you get into the $200 range, you get top quality.

I bought a silverstone TJ-09 Temjin last week and returned it two days later for the cosmos S I currently have.

The TJ-09 was a $300 case with a very poor airflow design. My prior case, a stacker 830 easily bested the TJ-09 in every temperature sensor, video cards mb, cpu etc.

And it was only $200 and all aluminum.

Just like we won't see to many of the thermaltake swords around here (although I almost bought a thermaltake tai-chi awhile back before I regained sanity).

Also, cases need to be changed occasionally. I bought a new case recently, not because my stacker 830 was not amazing (which it was) but because I was tired of looking at it for over a year.

The case is made of 100% pure aluminum inside out. Someone has to fill the high-end case market.

You forgot that RocketFish one

Made by Lian-Li, sold at BB for ~$70, what's not to love?

I've never really liked most Lian-Li cases...but the RocketFish one and now this...they've changed my mind.

$400 for a case, LOL! I'd take a Phenom over that any day.

"MSRP to be well over $400 US Dollars".......That doesn't mean it will be $400.
