This new model has triple-fan cooling solution kept in white and silver color scheme. GALAX GTX 980 HOF has a full cover backplate, presumably made of brushed aluminum. This card is equipped with white, fully custom PCB, which features two 8-pin power connectors. Those connectors are the only parts that do not fit to the whole design, because they are beige.

GALAX exclusive Hyper Boost technology acts like a hardware turbocharger, increasing the maximum power delivered to the GPU with the push of a button. Dual BIOS further simplifies the tweaking process by enabling risk-free firmware updates and customization.
Hmm wonder what that button actually does....

OMG! Im so glad I waited. I just hope this thing doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

The excerpt that you quoted is reffering to the GTX 980 right? I mean I don't think the GTX 970 would have 2 x 8pin power.

Well, both of the Zotac 970 AMP editions cards are 2x 8-pin cards, so ya never know.

Unfortunately these cards will not be for sale on Newegg, Amazon, TigerDirect, Microcenter etc.... You will only be able to exclusively purchase them through their web store - http://www.galaxstore.net/

Here's also a quote from their Marketing Manager -

The GTX 980 SOC will available very soon but I'm not yet able to confirm any GTX 900 series HOF edition cards just yet. New HOFs will no doubt be available at some point in the future but for now my advice would be to visit us at www.facebook.com/2014galax and give us a like so you'll be the first to know as soon as new cards are announced. All new products will be available for order direct online at store.galaxytechus.com, and there are not currently any plans to sell through any other etailers or retailers for the time being.

Best,

Funny you should say that because I have the exact same mobo + case. I'm picking up two 980 HOF's as soon as they come in stock!

They most certainly will! Sorry for the potato quality I took this with my cellphone, I'll be using a Sony RX100 when I'll be posting up my rig gallery!

Also ocUK has an ETA that says Nov 14th - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-008-GX
So I expect to see availability on their webstore sometime within the next two weeks hopefully.

I've had my HOF for almost 1 year and I haven't had an issue with it. It runs at 1254 Mhz stable (gaming) and I haven't had any problems at all. I think you're talking about a couple of cards that had issues, I think basing the whole line-up on a couple of bad cards is like saying the X99 deluxe from Asus that has had a handful of board failures (vrm popping / exploding) means the whole line-up is bad.

Love the white PCB - would be cool if an aftermarket liquid block manufacturer made a black specifically for this.

Seriously enjoying my Galax card. Great cooling solution (with backplate) and a good overclock for a cheap price.

Always thought they were a bit of an underrated brand that didn't really get a lot of coverage despite being the only exclusively NVIDIA partner besides EVGA ever since I got a Galaxy GTX680. Was disappointed they never provided a GOP UEFI vBios for the card but nothing that crossflashing an ASUS GOP vBios didn't solve.
