Sapphire would launch a stand-alone variant of the Radeon R9 290X which would feature the reference specs and will retail at the €499.99 price while the Battlefield 4 bundled version would retail for a little more at €519.99. It seems like Sapphire is using their company sticker on the stand-alone version which makes it look unique from the other R9 290X crowd which are re-using the reference stickers and design over and over again.

It will more likely be $499-549.
According to current currency rates, 1 Euro equals 1.38 US Dollar
If you think AMD is charging 549 for their top tier card, you are crazy. There is no chance whatsoever it's going to cost $549. Especially when the currency conversion shows that it will be more expensive than that.

We have a ~20% tax on everything, retailers take a bit more and the shipping of the cards costs a bit. 1€:$1 is pretty common in electronics. If it costs 500€ here it'll be either $550 or $500 in the US.Originally Posted by BiG StroOnZ

Because AMD overcharges for every top tier item they release and then lowers the prices later on if it doesn't sell. It's competing with the Titan according to unofficial benchmarks, what makes you think they are going to sell it for $500 less than a Titan? You really think AMD isn't as money grubbing as NVIDIA?
Things are priced differently in different parts of the world. For computer hardware, you can just replace € with $.Originally Posted by BiG StroOnZ

Yeah I'd be willing to place a wager against those who believe it will be 600+ USD. It's going to be $550 USD or less.
Almost all Computer hardware has released for a 1 dollar to 1 euro rate due to higher tax rates in the EU so if it really is 500 euro it will probably be somewhere near 500 dollars.Originally Posted by BiG StroOnZ

Why would Amd price it at 550? EasyOriginally Posted by BiG StroOnZ

What was the official EURO release cost of the 7990? Here it was $1000-1100.
I think you might have some wishful thinking going on. Is it possible, sure. But have you seen AMD's pricing lately? Especially with "big release" items?

you also forgot that amds chips are smaller so they can have a higher profit margin at a lower price point compared to nvidia.
Were alittle over 7 hours from finding out if i'm right or wrong
If you asking if you need to upgrade, the answer is no. Now 2x 290xs might, but it won't be due to the CPU.
Well ignoring the so called "rumors" and "articles." And instead using thought processing. They have a product that basically already is faster than the a GTX 780. As a matter a fact, it competes with a Titan. Which by any standard is superb. So, what would make them want to charge $500-550 for a product they could sell for $600-650 and still slaughter their competition while making money at the same time? Then have custom models sell in the $700 range. Basically telling consumers you get Titan performance for much less money and it's the new standard for High Resolution Gaming?
I will play your game....what makes you think AMD is going to price this card any differently than ALL the leaks? DO oyu have insider info? I'm gonna take a hunch that your are wrong and the leaks are accurate. Sorry, nothing personal.Originally Posted by BiG StroOnZ

The only thing that says it will be priced contrary to rumours is...you...and maybe some other skeptics...Originally Posted by BiG StroOnZ

The only thing that says they are charging so little for it is the rumors, but that's about it. Goes against their typical initial release product pricing pattern.
