Wouldn’t be the first time asus killed a cpu with a motherboard….Yes it does indeed. I was really surprised he acted like that. And ofc he is blaming Asus as the reason that the cpu died

Thank you so much for the Advice, already pick Noctua NH-U12A and has been great so farArctic Aio I'm using now is more than enough for 7950x, so I guess you can pick whatever you want

How Much performance i will loose if any pairing 1x16gb ddr5 cl36 6000mhz or 5600mhz cl36 against 2x16gb same ram,for start with 7600x and soon as 7800x3d became available i will change cpu,,board will be msi tomahawk b650 or E variant not sure right now,i ask this because where i live 2x16gb in this 5600 or 6000 coast a kidney,if perf.are small against 1x16gb i dont see a reason to not stay on 1x16g configuration.

Has anyone found a fix for the boosting issue where 7950x only boosts to 5400-5500 MHz?
Mine was boosting fine, I changed the BIOS, it got the boosting issue, I flashed back and it still has the boosting issue.
Can't seem to get my normal 5700+ boost back, I've full reset the BIOS, etc. Any thoughts?

Do you have "medium load boostit" enabled in bios ? (PBO part of bios)
Can try to disable it if its on

Did you disable cstates? Cores cant boost high if you did

Even if I reset BIOS to default, it doesn't boost above 5.5 on single thread CPUz
It's weird because when I first powered on the rig at default settings with the BIOS it shipped with, I was boosting to 5.7-5.8. Now I can't get that back seemingly no matter what I change in BIOS.

If clear cmos dont fix it i think you should reinstall windows

Yeah, I tried balanced and high performance, neither fixed it...
Edit: One thing I noticed is it runs on core 0 but core 1 is marked as my fastest and core 4 is marked as my second fastest.
Edit2: I thought maybe armoury core and/or chipset driver could be causing it. I tried all 4 combinations of with and without AC and with the old and new chipset driver and all had the boost issue. Interestingly though, armoury core was running extremely slowly for me and seemingly couldn't communicate with the motherboard correctly since when I would go to Aura, it would detect my RAM and GPU but not mobo. Might be a clue there... Btw, I used the official uninstall tool to wipe away all the services each time.

Found something very helpful for the boost issues!

I ran this and it turns out I am getting over 5.7 boost on most cores EXCEPT core 0 which is the core that CPUz runs on, that one is stuck at 5.5.
So it seems it's an affinity issue where windows isn't correctly telling single threaded apps to run on the fastest core.

Thats a known CPU-Z problem.. Their ST benchmark always run on core0

I had a weird issue where CCD1 disappeared after attempting too high an overclock, and even "loading defaults" in BIOS didn't fix it. I had to short the clear CMOS jumper to really clear the BIOS. Try that if you haven't already.Zero of those installed
