I have a ROG Maximus XII Hero Wifi board and not sure exactly off of which CPU temp I should base my fan profiles.
Using the Asus Ai Suite 3 (fan expert) to set the fan curves it shows this.

But there are so many CPU temps I see in HWInfo (all different coming from the sensors) that I have no idea which is the correct one to watch:

Should I look at the CPU package temp for my overall CPU temp?

Hi,
Max core temp is best since package can be wonky.

Hi,
Core max is near package temp.

Oh yeah I found it hidden between the cores.
Now the question is, I'm pretty sure the Asus Fan xpert app does not run the fan profiles from that temp, it probably uses the board CPU sensor?
Is there a way I can change it to use the core max value instead?

Hi,
Think this platform max core or package temp are pretty much the same
Package is wonky on skylake-x

Otherwise if neither are an option just set a max core temp.

Hi,
Looks like core #1 is the worst
Do a strees test if you didn't already and which ever is the highest go off it.
