I support this. Hopefully it will make people think twice about glitching with the excuse of "I'm not cheating...it's part of the game." Everyone has enough to common sense to know that is not 'part of the game'. Besides, it is more like a slap on the wrist than anything. Just shut down your xBox and come back tomorrow.

In Halo 2 they let you double shot and BXB. And it was even used in MLG. In COD4 and 5 there were millions of glitches. No one was ever banned for using them.

I heard about this a while back, but I was really annoyed that everywhere I saw they called it "banning" (I guess because that's what the IW people said when they announced it), when it's really just a 24-hour suspension. I think that most people generally associate "ban" with being permanent. I wish they would start saying "suspension" for temporary bans.

It might be. For XBL, they have to put the patch through Microsoft/XBL and they have to approve it or something, which takes more time. And they also might have to prep their servers for this download... haha.

Bricking your machine? They aren't permanently banning. And this is a suspension of your XBL account, not permanently banning the console.

That's pretty standard affair on any server I've ever played on in other games.

sony isnt banning the glitchers because i think they cant. If they ban the account, they can just make another free of charge and continuing glitching. They arent going to ban the console, its going to infuriate a lot of owners

That's good at least. I can understand a temp ban for exploiting. That's actually pretty normal in the PC community on dedi servers. You exploit, you get kicked and/or temp banned.

I am however, getting a lil PO'd at M$ for all the ban hammer drops. I wonder how many XBL users have gone Sony because of that? Seems like a bad idea for M$, get a bad reputation and have a percentage of your customers forced to the competition, that's real smart.

BTW, I don't own any current-gen game console.

the ban hammer is why i will stay with xbox. i never cheat or mod my xbox so those who do can go away.
