Which exact aio ?
Most are controlled with usb3 for it's sotware
PWM connection I've always used the cpu port, but something has to be in the cpu port fan.. or bios will throw a fit.

No reason to ignore them use it if not for the aio just plug a fan into it.

No you're right they are broken to a point to where they need software to control them
Water pump now that one can be tuned in bios on manual and setting up a curve...
AIO port is garbage without software like corsair units have a remote isn't going to help anything.
