There are a lot to say but this one is most important.

Min slider not even works and not makes any sense to me. What is the min slider about? Gpu should not boost below that am i right? But if there is a not enough power it will go below what you set. If there is not enough voltage it will go above what you set. If there is not enough anything it will override you and do what it is like to do. And get crash.

I had one of the best oc'd 2080ti, 1080 ect and now i had one of the best 6800xt but there are tremendous difference by overclocking. It was easy and you will know what you do exactly.

For amd is a complete a meaningless to be try stable at certain frequency. (at least for rdna2) You can set 1.05v and max 2600mhz for ex. it is supposed to boost to 2550mhz in games and it can be stable for hours. But;

In the end it will be boost to 2595mhz and get crash. Why?? Why it is even trying to boost that? Plus, If you set 1.05v it will drain more than that time to time without and reason.

If you are trying to squeeze out the performence for bencmarking this will happen to you more than usual user.

You can clearly see that by 3dmark scores. A lot of 6800xt hits the freq limits and gets different performances which proves my statement.

Sarcasitc replay : it's rocket science man, we know stuff and can exactly say what happend million , i repeat milion of years ago from rocks structure, compounds, location, etc, and we forgot what it took for Neil or i must quote " they lost " the tehnology to go to the Moon, u cannot make all GPU perfect, u cannot make a hardware perfectly controlling by a software ( it can fluctuate, it never knows the desired work flow of a gpu, the gpu goes on uncharted land, is not like the gpu works from a specific code from a game, the code from a game is never ending generating it self , and lets not start with AI and Ray Tracing that is not algorithms created by man, u just wait for software created by software ( software creating software, happening for decades, in a few years will be mediatezed like a new revolution , a new age, a new discovery) ) .

if you set 2600 and get 2595 is not exactly what you are asking to the card and the driver trying to do it? if you crash is because you are forcing it to work outside of the voltage curve

I'm not saying they are perfect software side (but can't be said for nividia too, right? ampere came into the market crashing here and there lol) , if you don't know what are you doing just keep it default and let her decide where to boost for her voltage curve

if you set 2200 in a nvidia you won't see 2200 unless you are below 40c and not hitting pl wall, they have the same limitations (they were the pioneers of limitations lol ) in pl and voltage like amd so mmmmmm ok, enjoy the 3080, I 'll buy your faulty 6800xt for 200$ if it is so buggy, send me your paypal account

Hi,

Looking for some help to boost my scores, got a 6800xt normal version and getting 18995 in timespy (19686 gpu, 15845 cpu).

Card is air cooled and setup with 2550-2750 clock, 2140 mem/fast, max power and 995v.

Going to dial back the memory clock tonight once I'm home and see if that improved my score but any other feedback appreciated

get MPT, ul the power limit and the TDC and ur 20200-20500 score in no time.

i might be mistaken, but i see more stable clocks ( oc to 2630-2730, stable at 2680 )

i have to answer this but it seems u either are very very young , and u just say what ever u see in life ( internet ) , or ignorant or a corporatist .
when a hardware or software, or any product that is made for public , that product must be tested to meet quality , health etc, but we speak of a GPU, so it must be test to check what ? if it powers on and the display shows u'r OS ? ( the company must have testers, quality check, performance check and so on, from my perspective as a consumer a high end GPU must be what they are marketing for , a high end gpu as the price reflects it , but they use telemetry, and people feedback ? wait, what ? its cheaper to install a spyware on a customer and sell him a unpolished product as a "PREMIUM" "GOLD SAMPLE" "PLATNIUM" "LIGHT GIVER" "AIR PRODUCER FOR LIFE" product and time will tell if that performes for the stupid masses that will buy from scalpers anything bcuz its "limited" or nvidia 2 times the performance , yes they see you all are stupid and accept any **** they throw at you, and you forget everything until a "influencer"that his moral in life is money making, and his life depends on that company, so the company dictates like in the Hardware Unboxed thing ( that is only thing that leaks out, random leak , but if u can imagine on what does not leak out ) back to the "influencer, news maker. media creator, etc" what titles they give them self u wait for theyr opinion to make ur decision, no wounder Search Suggestion is a thing, to hard to think for ur self.

i worked as a tester more then a decade ago, it was a time filling stuff for me, less then a mounth ( it was really boring, was on a gameing related stuff, i had to test over and over and over again bugs, i was not told if i was testing a software or a hardware, i entered that cuz of some friends of a friends was earning a living there by doing that stuff ) and now what telemetry over telemetry , bad products over insane products, refference design with insane awfull cooling on the 6800 xt , either that company that is among the TITANS of tech industry have imbecils on designing these stuff , that is less likely to be that , and if u thing that a company that does so good and is on the market for years and years even if they were not that good on selling and making money, you are the loser here, thinking they have idiots designing , coding, marketing , etc , a card that if u want better performance u need a water cooler or buy from a partner that made some improvements taxing up tot 50% more on the same card , just awfull.

let me end with this, Bill Gates, tryed to steal his partner shares on the google stuff or what ever they were partners at ( his partner was fighitng cancer and he was in hospital ) he had multiple charges cuz he brakes people privacy ( he brakes the law ) , he has money more then he can count, most of the people i know that were succesfull in life, they made money until they had enough , but what does money make ? yes monsters. good answer. now 5-10 years ago he went into vaccines, 2-3 years ago i was talking with some friends about this, and they were moking of haha, bla bla, u are stupid , he doesnt do that, fast forward 1 year, Melinda and Gates company makes a simulation of a global pandemic, event 201, few mouths more a global pandemic appears, fast forward who has the most shares and made most money on vaccines ? ( oh let me quote Bill " investing into vaccines was the most profitable i ever did " a guy that from stealing from a friend that was fighting cancer and was very ill, from a guy that thinks there is to many people on earth, a guy that has a seed bank, a guy that has insane citys of hardware storages just indexing data, and so on, why he doesnt invest in making life better, why he invests in having more money and more power , yes he invested in Africans vaccinations where a heard a documantary years ago where the local african doctor was saying , why they send vaccines ? when they dont have water or food for children, and he was a doctor for several villages there , oh what about india where he went there and with no licence did experiments there cuz that country is pretty fed up, so many things that ppl thing its sci f. )
i can talk on and on, about stuff that first they say something then they was it away , they know you are ignorant and ur purpice is comfort zone , they know u cannot handle other things then what you are used to .
And years by years we advance in tech and bio and evolve more and more, but life is awfull and products are crappier, only a few country in the world are prosper and the rest fight for survival, the U.N. has a android app on playstore ? to ask for people to donate money to feed the poor ? just wow, the guys that parners with the Banks, the banks that control the direction of money ask for money ( with this im nor arguing on having wealth so much that is endless, but some have so much wealth and they ask to others to do something so they dont lose theyr position. I'm bored talking about this cuz it's endless and it takes years to understand what i wrote and it takes experience to see these things happning to understand it , few understand and those few are the ones that care about this and that, just like free will and decisions , i will never argue on whom and what should be vaccinated or whom and what should take a vaccine or not, it's theyr choice , it's theyr right, it's theyr what ever they want it to be , but i will fight for that person that doesnt agree with what ever i think or write to have free will , to have a right to an opinion, an option , to be a free person.

guys, i dont know if SAM is really working on my rig, i have 3700x paired with 6800xt aourus, and it seems SAM is working?

my first benchmark with no SAM total of FPS is 78 , but when i tried to enable SAM on the bios it boosted to 83 FPS, are you guys also tried SAM on non 5 series AMD cpu?

Go to Device Manager > Display adapters > 6800 XT > Right Click > Properties > Tab > Resources
Now compare Memory Range with SAME ON/OFF.

i see, i have check the memory range, the Large memory range and Memory range somehow changed, except for I/O range and IRQ

This is what i'am talking about below picture. If i set max freq 2800mhz i expect it to boost around max 2750mhz? Am i right? In the end it will boost to 2800mhz for some reason and get crash. If i set 2700mhz max it will crash again while trying to boost 2700mhz.

So if i do not want to get crash i have to set much higher voltage or much lower freq. Which means say bye bye to an extra %5 performance or %5 more power consumption just the compansate amd's driver or algorithm failure.

and the worst of all most probably it's getting crash just because amds limitations. The card boost itself to 2800mhz and at the same time trying to lower it and crashing.

I'm sure my gpu can complete 3dmark bench at 1.06v (hard max voltage by mtp) at 2750mhz (max slider at 2800mhz).

But if i set max slider to 2750mhz it will try to boost 2750mhz and get crash with 1.15v when it tries to boost 2750mhz.

There are lots to say about their chaotic voltages vs power vs freq if there are any.

For nvidia it's too easy. If it's crashing which means there are not enough voltage at that frequency or it's getting hot. That's all. Cool it or raise the voltage if you can. For AMD? There is a chaos.

Note: This behavior of the card only be seen when you forse it much higher freq than stock.

Note 2: Ampere crash problem solved by nvidia in 1 month max and the problem was similar.

Nice! Thank you for the information. Im so happy to go with amd this generation of cards. I originally want to buy a 3080. But because of stocks and also the price i bought the 6800xt. And now with 3700x i got free fps boost. via sam

@xcx xcxvgyt and @Not a redditor Holy crap, guys, I've not seen reactions this fierce since a few weeks ago when, in the 3080 stock alert twitch chat, I baited a reseller into defending their trade so vitriolically that they were on about the starving children in Africa before the mods muted them :p

I'm still wondering what the point of your responses are. AMD's RDNA2 is a radically different architecture than Nvidia, likewise the drivers are different. What's your point, @xcx xcxvgyt ? That AMD doesn't act like Nvidia, therefore it's trash? You can't compare the two apples to apples at all. If AMD's driver behavior is a problem, then make your point and submit bug reports. If you're just upset that It's not Nvidia? Your money can make Nvidia happen.

Re: @Not a redditor Again, what's your point? I built my first PC for the family when I was in my teens, 21 years ago, and have had my head into tech and PC gaming ever since. I don't see the need to try and defend my statements. Likewise, I'm not going to agree with yours.

I feel that you two read between the lines a little too deeply and took my comments as a personal attack. I assure you, that was not the intent. After all, it's the internet, guys...

Though as we all know, sometimes someone is just wrong on the internet :p
