So this is probably obvious to most of you, but I just realized that having a multi monitor set up drastically affects the +12v reading...and causes idle power draw to hit 70w. I have two 4k monitors (160hz) and 1 1440p monitor (170hz). All 3 connected cause the voltage to drop down to 11.7v. With only one monitor I get drops to 11.9v.

Hmmm, I have four displays connected (4K/120, 4K/60, 1440/60x2) and the lowest my 12vHPWR rail drops to is 11.9v. It was exactly the same with just one 4K/120 display connected. Still unsure what Misc0 Input Voltage pertains to but I assume it's not as important to monitor vs the cable.

Currently using a ModDIY cable for SeaSonic. While I already monitor my 12v constantly, I might just take some advice from this thread and get a thermocouple to monitor the connector temps just to be doubly sure.

Hi guys. For Asus Strix owners: is it normal that the red led light is on while the computer is off?
When I turn on the pc the red light goes off.

With the.adapter.and the cablemod cable I think it didn't happen. With the nvidia adapter, the red light turns on with the pc off.
This red light turns on when the connector is not all the way in.
If it’s all the way in then something else is going on and you have to try with a different cable to see if the issue persists.

Hello. But when the computer is off, isn't it normal that the light is on? I had a 2080ti strix and I think it would also turn on the light when the computer was off.
Check the wire many times and it is fully inserted.
The rtx 5000 should include an electron microscope to check if the cable is fully plugged in hahahahahaha

No it is not , I have the Tuf card which is the same pcb just fewer power phases.

This happens only when the pc is off and the cable not connected at all or not properly connected so you either have a bad contact with the cable and it’s defected or somethings wrong with the cards connector which I believe is not. But I wouldn’t use it as it is now could be dangerous.

Connect your cablemod cable directly to the connector of the card without the adapter and report back.

Seems like my 4090 Strix is the A1 revision with new mosfets and caps to try reduce coil-whine (but oh boy, does she still have coil whine):

I can do 3030-3045 core and +1100 mem at the most on water. Not sure if that's decent or not, but it seems fairly good.

Isn't it when the GPU lights start blinking you'll have a problem? This is from the new one....

I'm happy I don't have those small flimsy modern connectors on my PSU. I can happily live with the older ATX standard PSUs as be quiet! Dark Power Pro 12 1500W and the new second PSU - Cooler Master V750 SFX Gold 750W. Best of both worlds. None with the new modern flimsy GPU connectors to follow up on the PSU box and loads of power connectors.

Didn’t know that there’s a blinking light as well , I haven’t experienced the blinking light though in any case and I really don’t want to… 😅

But I know really well that It turns on when I disconnect my cable or my cable is only midway through the connector , so there is definitely something going wrong with his cable or card.

Once the cable inserts properly this led Turns off even when the pc is off.

It’s a Plot-twist then , his is fine and I should find out why mine is off ?

I have set in my mobos bios aura sync as stealth in off state and that basically turns off all the leds , maybe that turns off the cards led as well , I will change this setting and report back.

There is some PSU models out there with the standby power on (5v) alla time. Lights will will stay powered on even when you turn of the PSU switch.

You have also lots about the Red Light topic on the web... Asus TUF Red Light when PC is OFF?

My psu switch is on , just pc is off.

I tried it , both functional leds on in the bios and mobos leds on (default) inside the armoury crate program.

still no led when the pc is off:

In GPU Tweak III you can disable that power alert on ASUS cards if you hate the light being on when PC is off.
