The RX 6800, RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT share the same PCB design. The AMD Reference PCB (2x8-pin) has room for 6 power stages on the left and 10 power stages on the right, with ? of them allocated for memory. This means that the RX 6900 XT reference PCB has a maximum of ?? power stages for the GPU.

Make this the 6800/XT club. :)

2nd

I’m low in the 3080 FTW3 Ultra queue but will absolutely snag one of the XT’s should I find one in stock before getting a notification from EVGA.

#5 ·
We just learned the dimensions of all 3 cards thanks to SAPPHIRE, they list the products already, they're selling Reference design;

RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT
Dimension: 266.7(L)X 119.75(W)X 49.75 (H)mm
267 x 120 x 50mm (2.50 Slot)

RX 6800
Dimension: 266.7(L)X 119.75(W)X 39.75 (H)mm
267 x 120 x 40mm (2.00 Slot)

They are seriously tiny, and can beat both 3080 and 3090, very impressive.

I will be hunting 6800 or 6800 xt, depend on prices in EU. Considering starting prices for ampere cards, my goal would be 6800 xt but if nvidia price gouging will affect market prices of navi 2, 6800 may be my option.

I love PCCG, yesterday they give me an ETA for a week from now and then it shipped early today. I should have it by monday.

Congrats ernorator and HAPPY Birthday!

Please keep us poster with your results.

GPU drivers newest, chipset drivers newest. When I enable Smart Access Memory by enabling this settings in BIOS (picture not mine, but options are the same),

Save settings and restart my pc freezes. Nothing helps, only clear cemos. When it freezes, all fans are working, all lights are on, keyboard/mouse light is on and red debugging LED marked VGA is on, monitor is off "no signal".

Is it a BIOS fail or I need to enable some more/other settings or maybe something in windows?

#21 ·
Same issue with 2 ASUS motherboards.

#14 ·
Oh, now I get your message in the other thread.....sorry

#15 ·
np m8, Your answer was valid since I did not tell i was having a problem with it.

Had a bit of time to play with my card, oc ofc :p

For some strange reason, in Fire Strike 6800 decided to run combined test on 500 mhz and I can't convince it otherwise. When I test only combined it works with 1500-1700mhz, 4500 vs 14000. Also all 3dmark scores for 6800/xt are hidden and I can't make them public. Something about SAM influencing gpu score. Maybe they will unhide them later so I will leave links.

My 6800 is coming Monday. I really wanted an XT but I couldn't get one. 6800 was much easier to get. So I'm going to keep the 6800 unopened until Wednesday the 25th when the AIB 6800XTs go on sale. If I can get an XT I'll return or sell the 6800.

Though I'm wondering whether there will be any way to unlock the XT specs on the 6800, eg by flashing the 6800XT BIOS to the 6800. I'll be eagerly waiting for the first person to try that :) If that works, maybe the 6800 can be as good as an XT.

#19 ·
Out of stock everywhere for now. But there will be non-reference cards released on Wednesday, the 25th. Eg from Gigabyte, MSI, Powercooler, etc. There won't be much stock so you'll have to check many sites and be fast and lucky.

PSA, the memory clock issue is still here. Stuck at 1990mhz just because it's plugged into a 144hz screen.

also which one of these temps should I be paying attention to?

Did a stock time spy run

1)Memory clock issue is not a issue. That is normal behavior. The screen refresh to fast to allow memory clock switching.
2)Both are important.

Junction temperature will always go higher (+10 to 20C) compared to Current Temperature.
You don't want to get Junction temp over 100C.

#30 ·
Hey can I ask where you guys got your cards ?
Trying to snag one for so long wondering where the best place is.

#31 ·
I bought mine in like 5s of it being live at the shop. I did try to buy xt on other window but I was to slow. Later someone from shop stuff told me there was 3x more non-xt than xt.

Junction temp was horrible on my reference cooler, like +30-40c compared to gpu temp. Alsaw memory temps where bad on reference cooler.

Joining the club, snagged a Sapphire RX 6800 Nitro+ for my R9 3900X rig....

yeah defintely....

but a good piece nonetheless

let us know how the baby clocks

A quick one, this is a GPUZ capture of the max temps, fanspeed, etc for my card after playing one level of Serious Sam 3 BFE. I'd only adjust the fanspeed curve, everything else at stock, including my CPU....AC in room set to 25C.
