Hey guys, so I finished my build yesterday which includes GTX 690's in quad sli. I'm having a problem tho, during games like BF3, the gpu's will throttle themselves to down to about 550mhz, and sometimes even the idle 324mhz, and it reduces the fps to 30-40, which is annoying when playing on a 120hz monitor. I'm using EVGA precision for the "target" 120 fps but it does not seem to do much since the gpu's will randomly throttle themselves and create lag. Also, with the precision monitor, the gpu's will almost NEVER go above 50% usage, any ideas?
Congrats Divineshadowx on your GTX 690 SLI set up. Looks great.
Also I see it's your first post on OCN....Welcome aboard as well.
Onto your issue. I'm going to go over the obvious first. Have your gone through Nvidia Control Panel with a fine tooth and comb through the settings?
Make sure 'Configure Multi-GPU, Surround, PhyX' setting has -Multi-GPU enabled and 'maximize 3D performance' checked.
In 'Manage 3D Settings' 'Global Settings' tab:
Multi-GPU rendering mode: NVIDIA recommended.
Multi-display / mixed-GPU acceleration: Single Display performance mode (unless you have mutliple monitors).
Power Management: Prefer maximum performanceOn a side note: When you find time a good thing to do is fill out your specs in Your Profile - Edit Systems section so other members can see your components in your signature when posting.
